Nadia woke up to darkness and looked around the shadowed room. She unwrapped herself from the fluffy blanket and sat up. She felt the nightstand for her phone and found it. She turned on its flashlight and stood up, stretching. She walked over to her door and carefully opened it. Nadia stepped out into the hallway and looked around, aiming the light at everything. What made her heart thump was Ethan's door wide open, showing nothing but darkness beyond. She began to walk towards the room and stood at the doorway, not finding Ethan anywhere there.
Nadia turned back around and found the other's doors closed. 'But could they be gone too?' She thought to herself and quietly opened their doors and found everyone there. She gritted her teeth and walked down the stairs to check if he was getting a midnight snack, though she was having doubts, only hearing dead silence.
She made it to the bottom of the stairs and found the kitchen window broken, shattered glass all across the floor. She covered her mouth, her eyes wide. She quickly ran to the kitchen knife set and took a large knife.
Nadia looked around the room and tried to peer into the hallway. She then looked back outside and a dark streak across the porch floor as well as the grass. It came to her attention a dark coating out lining the spiky part of the glass still on window frame.
She shined the light on the broken window and gaped, seeing a dark red liquid slowly trickling down the glass. Nadia shone the light onto the floor and found the shards were red as well. "O-oh God..." Her face grew pale and she ran upstairs to wake the others up.
"GUYS!!! ETHAN'S MISSING AND THE WINDOW'S BROKEN AND THERE'S BLOOD!!!" She screamed once she got upstairs. Martha quickly ran out of her room, followed by Mike and finally Rebecca.
Martha ran into Ethan's room and came back out after searching and throwing things around. Mike had already ran downstairs to check out the kitchen scene. Rebecca followed him, not caring at all what was going on around her.
(2:35 a.m.)
The group had spent about an hour of searching through the woods for Ethan, but lost the blood trail after thirty minutes of walking or so. They walked back to the lodge, unable to walk further because of fatigue and low temperatures. Mike frowned. "I swear if he's back there and this is just some prank, I'm going to kill him." He grumbled and Rebecca giggled. Martha was silent, staring at the ground.Nadia looked at the lodge door and found it wide open. She grew uneasy and so did the others. Mike walked in first and turned to the girls. "Martha, check the second floor. I'll check this floor with Rebecca and Nadia you check the basement."
Nadia mentally wanted to kill him for making her go to the basement but just walked by, using her phone as a flashlight again. She walked down the stone steps and became cold from the temperature drop.
She flashed the light around and didn't find anything out of order until she found a tiny lump on the ground next to what look like tweezers. She bent down and her face grew completely pale, close to puking as she looked at what she found.
Mike and Rebecca had circled the first floor and found nothing. Mostly Mike checked the scene again and found it the same. Martha had the same result until she went into Rebecca and Mike's room. On Rebecca's bag there was a paper that seemed shredded and dirty.
She bent down to see the note and found the note was not only dirty but bloody. She turned around and read it, her eyes widening and heart racing.
