Chapter 6

**Nero's POV**

I stare at myself in the mirror, examining my outfit. Black jeans, a grey t shirt with the words 'Back from Hell' written on the front in black spiky letters and my favourite leather jacket. I want to look my best for Ash- No! What I mean is, I want to look my best when I meet all these famous YouTubers, yeah, that's definitely what I meant.......
I look at my phone, checking the time. The clock reads 11:30, I've got half an hour to get there.

I land in the alley, across the road is the entrance to the convention. I can see the 5SOS boys standing a little to the right of the door. Beside them are another three people - two boys and a girl I think - but I can't see their faces.
Heading over to them, I call
'Hey! Mickey, Cal, Luke!' they look at me, Ashton resolutely keeping his back to me and carrying on his conversation with those other people.
'Nero, you made it.' Luke says, smiling.
'Yep.' I reply.
We walk back over to the group, as we get closer I recognise the two boys, the girl still has her back to me. I grab Michael's arm,
'Is that?'
'Yep, hey Jack, Finn. There's someone I want you to meet.' The two boys turn around, the girl still talking to him.
'Jack, Finn, this is my sister Nero. She's one of the Fallen by the way.'
I turn my head sharply to look at Michael, I don't generally like havering what I am spread around so much. Especially to mortals. Noticing my expression Michael says hurriedly,
'Oh don't worry, the twins are shapeshifters, they know what we are and they won't expose you, don't worry.'
'Ooookay.' I say, still cautious.
'Hi.' says Jack, grinning at me, 'it's nice to meet you Nero.'
'Same here.' I reply, shaking his outstretched hand.
'Hey.' says Finn, also shaking my hand and smiling at me.
'Hey Finn,' Jack says nudging him, 'You forgot someone.' He jerks his head back, indicating the girl, or should I say fairy - I can see through the glamour she has cloaking her dark purple, gossamer like wings - behind him,
'Oh yeah!' he says 'Hey Cait, come meet Michael's sister.' The fairy turns around, flicking her long, dark brown hair over her shoulder, she catches sight of my face and her eyes widen.
'No way!' I think
'Ner?'
'Cait?'
'Oh my god! It is you! I haven't seen your feathery arse in ages!'
'Same for you Tutu Brain!' I run forward and hug my best friend.
'Wait, you to know each other?' Finn and Michael ask at the same time.
'Yep' we reply, using our mind link - long story - to make sure we say it together.
'We've been best friends for the past, what four centuries?' I ask turning to her.
'Yeah that seems about right.' she says grinning.
'Well, seeing as there's no one else for us to introduce you to,' Luke says, 'Should we head in?' We all agree and follow him inside.
*************************************'Right!' says Caitilin, she's cornered me in the kitchen of the boy's rented flat - we came back here after the convention. And she has a serious look in her eyes.
'Spill it!'
'Spill what?' I ask, feigning cluelessness
'You know exactly what Feather Arse! What's happening between you and Ashton?'
'Oh Cait,' I say slumping against the counter, 'is it really that obvious?'
'Err yeah! About as obvious as a goblin in a room of pixies! Tell me what's up now!'
'Well the thing is.......I'vefoundmymate' I say as quickly as possible.
'That's great news! but what's that got to do with Ash?'
'Open your eyes Tutu Brain! It is Ash!'
'Aaaaaaaaand?'
'God! You're about as slow as a drunk demon, have you forgotten what Ashton and I are?'
'No! Of course not, you're one of the Fallen and Ash is one of the Hi- Oh Ner!' She gasps, putting her hands over her mouth,
'I'm so sorry.'
'Congratulations.' I say, clapping sarcastically at her,
'Finally she gets it!'
'Don't get snarky with me!' She says, 'It's not my fault your immortal enemies with your soul mate.'
'Yeah I know.' I say dejectedly
'It's just, I've got no chance, have I? I mean when you find your mate, it's meant to be instant love and the desire to protect one another, not instant hate and a desire to kill one another.'
'Wait? Do you hate him or love him?' Cait asks looking confused.
'I don't know.' I reply, 'I-I think it might be a bit of both.'....

**Ashton's POV**

I'm standing outside the kitchen door, yeah I know I shouldn't eavesdrop, but I just can't help myself. I mean, come on! They're talking about me.
'Wait?' I hear Finn's girlfriend ask,
'Do you hate him or love him?'
I catch my breath, wanting to hear her answer, but before I get do, Luke walks out the lounge, obviously looking for me.
'Hey Ash....what're you doing?'
'Wha-? Oh right, I errm, I was......' 'Crap!'
'I was......errrm'
'Quick! Think of something you feather brained idiot!'
'I was on my way back from the toilet'
'Woooow, smooth thinking air head'
He looks at me, clearly not convinced, but thankfully he lets it drop.
'Well come on then. Let go and finish the film with the others.'
'Yeah, okay.' I reply, following him in.
*************************************About 15 minutes later, Nero and Caitilin return, each carrying some popcorn. As she passes me, Nero catches my eye, fury filling her own, she shakes her head to clear her mind and as she passes, heading towards her own seat, her leg brushes against my own. Immediately my heart starts beating rapidly, a mix of anger and something I can't identify flooding through my veins, my fists clenching and sparks tingling all over my body. Luke, being a vampire is able to hear it's change in tempo and notices how tightly my fists are closed. He looks at me sharply, worried I'll attack again, like last time, but I shake my head at him, to let him know fine.
We carry on watching. Well they are the ones who are watching, I'm mainly stealing glances at Nero. I leave the room to get a glass of water and when I return Michael turns to me, saying,
'Oh Ash, I've asked Finn, Jack and the girls to stay over, okay?' he shoots me a warning look, telling me to behave, I give him a curt nod and then walk straight out of the room again. Once in my bedroom, it hits me: The girls....Nero. Crap!
