Due to a number of you requesting I write more from Elena's point of view, this is what I came up with. Hope you enjoy xx

PART ONE

I'm interrupted from my book-keeping spreadsheet by the house phone. Linc has been away in NYC for three days finalising a contract with an Architect over a new build in Manhattan and I'm awaiting his call to collect him from the Airport.
"Hello?"
"Mrs. Lincoln?" A deep male voice enquiries.
"Yes..?" This isn't Linc...
"It's John Denham from the Marriott New York. Sorry to disturb. One of our maids just found your emerald and diamond bracelet under the pillows of your room. If you give me your address, we'll happily courier it over."
"My bracelet?" I ask in confusion. Why would they find my bracelet in Linc's room?
"Umm...I think there must be some mistake..." I begin.
"Mr. and Mrs. Roger Lincoln, suite 673? I checked you out myself this morning, ma'am."
And just like that, my world stops spinning on its axis.
He wouldn't...He wouldn't do that to me...
"Mrs. Lincoln? Are you still there..?"
I grip the phone until my knuckles turn white. "Yes," I whisper hoarsely. I swallow hard. "John...How would you describe me?"
"Excuse me, ma'am?"
I clear my throat, aiming for a stronger tone. "Physically. How would you describe me?"
"I-I don't understand..." He replies, baffled.
"Please, John," I implore. "Just give me your honest description of myself when we checked out."
"Umm...Okay...Petite, pretty, brunette...and umm...Much younger than your husband..?" I can feel his sense of foreboding as the penny drops.
"Thank you." I breathe. I squeeze my eyes shut as tears begin to form.
"Mrs. Lincoln...I'm so sorry." John apologises, sounding mortified. "Would...would you like me to destroy the bracelet?"
My eyes spring open. "No! I'll need it to confront the bastard I'm married to!" I snarl, seemingly finding an inner strength I didn't know I had. I take a deep breath. "I apologise for my outburst, John. It obviously wasn't aimed at you. If you could courier the bracelet across to me, I'd appreciate it. My address is..."

***********

The jewels catch the light streaming in from the sunroom. Sixteen half-carat emeralds interspersed with sixteen diamonds. Worn by some slut my husband had taken to a hotel room, whilst I was up until the early hours balancing the books. I resist the urge to hurl it across the room. These past forty-eight hours have been a living hell. I had every intention of unleashing my anger at Linc the moment he stepped into the car, but I found I couldn't. All he'd talked about was finalising the deal with Luca Bartolo, Lincoln Timber going global and how we could now afford to stop working so hard. He even said that we could finally take that trip around Europe we'd always wanted. He was the most animated I'd seen him in years and it reminded me of the man I'd originally fallen in love with.
Not the lying, cheating bastard I was seeing now.
How could he be happily making plans for our future after he'd slept with another woman?
Rubbing a knot in my aching forehead, I put the bracelet down on the couch next to me and pick up Linc's credit card bill, that I'd just printed off. The one good thing about doing all Linc's accounts, was that I knew all the passwords so accessing the information was easy. Sure enough, a purchase of three thousands dollars was made at a Manhattan jewellery store four days ago. A small part of me still hoped he was going to surprise me with some extravagant present, but deep down I knew the present was already sat twinkling and silently mocking me on the couch. How I had managed to be civil to Linc since he'd got back, was nothing short of a miracle. But I couldn't keep up this facade for much longer. I needed to confront him when he came back from the office tonight, or I would seriously explode...

**********

"Honey, I'm home!" Linc's jovial voice calls as I hear him shut the solid oak front door behind him.
Keep it together, Elena.
"Perfect timing." I call back as normally as I can. "Dinner's nearly ready. I'll get you a glass of wine."
"That would be wonderful."
I rise from the kitchen table and pour us two large crystal goblets of deep, red Chianti. I turn to face Linc as he enters the kitchen.
"How was your day?" He asks as he takes the goblet off me and kisses my cheek. I try not to flinch.
KEEP. IT. TOGETHER...
"Umm...Good. Gerrard wants to see us at the end of the week to go through finalising the Bartolo contract."
"Excellent." He beams and takes a sip of wine as I study his mouth. "How was Tennis Club?"
"Oh...I gave it a miss today," I say as nonchalantly as I can.
I had to stay in for the courier...
He nods and takes a deeper sip of wine as I stare transfixed. He gives a sudden cough and puts his goblet down.
BINGO!
"Ugh...What the hell..." He chokes and frowns at the goblet. I hold my breath as he puts his index finger and thumb into the goblet...
...And pulls out the bracelet.

How was Chapter One my Lovelies? Obviously I will be writing about her and Christian and about all the confrontations with Anastasia eventually, but I hope you liked the first chapter of Elena's story and are intrigued to read more. Please vote and let me know your thoughts!! Best wishes Beth xxx
