A/N Oh god. I was out on the river today, and I have the worst sunburn EVER. I don't regret it. I got to be pulled across the river on a... whatever it was. But it was awesome!!! Anyways, I'm finally out of school, but that doesn't mean I'll have more time. I actually have to go to Missouri soon, so I'll try to update while I still can.
BEN gently lead you out into the hallway and down the stairs. Tour knees shook slightly as you went down the stairs, but you kept composed and tried to convince yourself you weren't intimidated.
You were surprised you could go from loudmouthed brat to timid in a few minutes.
You finally reached the floor, and BEN had to support you. You made it to the living room, and BEN lowered you onto the couch.
"Social Anxiety much?" He asked, forcing a light laugh, although you could tell your state made him slightly nervous. He took a seat beside you, and you waited with baited breath. For what, you weren't sure.
He gave you a quick look, your tights and dark hoodie not exactly making you look beautiful, but showed off your 'killer body', and your hair was gnarled and greasy, but your face was undeniably attractive.
Movement caught your eye, and you turned to see a teen walking in, sitting down on the couch across from you and opening a can of soda before taking a sip. His mask was slipped slightly to the side so the liquid could actually reach his mouth.
He seemed to be staring at you, but you couldn't actually tell.
BEN seemed slightly uncomfortable, and fidgeted nervously, while you met his stare head-on, suddenly feeling a burst of courage.
You locked gazes, seemingly engaging in a psychic battle, before he gave up and looked to the side, keeping a cool exterior and ignoring you.
You growled in contempt and turned away, startling him. He had only ever heard a sound like that from an animal, and it was no surprise it received such a reaction.
"What was that?" He asked haltingly, his voice deep and hesitant.
Neither you nor BEN replied. He knew what it was.
He had been there. The one in the white mask. He saw you. You thought he knew that your opposite side disgusted you, and assumed he was just pushing your buttons by questioning you.
He saw your irritation and kept silent, trying to figure you out before straight up challenging you. Your eyes softened as he looked away.
"You know, it's nothing to be ashamed of." He said this in a hushed tone, not meeting your eyes. He took another sip of the canned soda, and you took the hint he wasn't going to speak again, at least, not immediately.
You found his words hard to believe, but didn't say anything. You merely gave him a sad smile that could break the coldest of hearts.
((Found this draft lurking around. Figured I'd hand it over to you guys! How would you guys like another story? I'll keep working on this one, but I want to know who would be interested in another fanfic.))
