CHAPTER [02]

Braxton household

"Hey baby girl, how was your day at school?" Michael asked Michele

"It was great, but things got out of hand when we got home" Michele said sighing.

Michele didn't like telling on her sister but she doesn't like the way she is being treated, especially by her blood sister

"What happened?"

"Estine locked me out of the house when we got back from school for an hour"

"Why?"

"I think it's because I made her wait for me after school"

"Did you have a reason for doing that?"

"Yes mommy, Brian was giving me a gift that he bought for me over the weekend"

"That is so sweet of him. So where is she?"

"Upstairs"

Evelyn and Michael left Michele in the kitchen cooking and headed to the girls' bedroom, but found the door locked

"Little girl, open the door"

"Coming mommy" Estine said opening the door

"Now what is this I hear about you locking your sister outside the house for an hour?"

"But daddy, the door locked itself because I shut it too hard when I came in"

"Where do you get the nerve?" Evelyn asked lowly

"What are you talking about?"

"Where do you get the nerve to look in my and your father's eyes and lie?"

"I am not lying!"

"Raise your voice at me one more time, I promise I will slap you across the face"

"Sorry mommy"

"That is all you have been doing lately.You do something wrong and then you think that an apology will make it less bad. Did you do your homework?" Michael asked

And there was silence

"Estine Braxton don't you dare ignore me when I am talking to you"

"No sir, I didn't do it"

"That's what I thought" Michael said leaving the room

Evelyn walked to Estine and embraced her with a tight hug

"Now baby tell me what the problem is"

"What do you mean?"

"You are always walking around here angry at your sister. Why?"

"I just don't like her okay"

"Why?"

"Because...never mind. Can you please leave so I can do my homework"

Although Evelyn wanted to know what was going on with her daughter, she left her alone and figured she would tell her when she was ready

"Thought as much" Estine mumbled to herself

Next Day
Maryland
Southern Light High School

"Hey Braxton, where is your fine sister at?" Keri asked

"My name is Estine, and I am not her keeper. So leave me alone" Estine said rolling her eyes

"Whatever yellow face" Keri chuckled

"What did you call me?" Estine asked turning around

"I called you yellow fa..." Keri trailed off getting interrupted by a slap across his yellow face

"Aye, what the fuck is your problem!?" Keri yelled

"I'd suggest you stop screaming in my face because your breath stinks and you are quite a spitter. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get to class" Estine said pushing Keri out of her way

"Leave me alone!" Estine warned but he held her tighter

"You are not going anywhere" He said pushing her to the floor and kids from the school came and stood there watching the fight

"Fight, fight, fight, fight" the school chanted

Michele came running in the school building to see her sister fighting with Keri

"Estine, stand up. Let's go!"

"No, it's because of you that this whole fight started. Now let me go!" She yelled snatching her hand out of Michele's grip

"What are you talking about?" Michele asked but never got an answer because she was now left alone in the school's hallway

"What did I do?" Michele thought to herself and went to class
