CHAPTER [03]

After school, Michele and Estine went home and got ready to go to bible study. They went alone since their parents were getting off work late. Bible study went on for a good two hours and they went back home by foot since it was not far. While walking a man in his early twenties stopped by the sisters in his black Mercedes

"Hello" the man greeted nicely. "Can I talk to you for a minute?" He asked and Estine moved towards the car

"Oh not you dear. I want to talk to her" He said pointing at Michele

"Whatever, Michele this man wants to talk to you" Estine said moving away from the car

"Oh hi" Michele said smiling

"Hello, um I was wondering if you know where House Of Worship Church is?"

"Oh it's right in the neighbourhood"

"Can you give me directions. I am not from here and I need to be there in the next fifteen minutes"

As Michele was giving that man the direction to the church, Estine left her there amd went home

"Ok, thank you. Do you want me to give you a lift since we are going in the same direction?"

"No, I'm walking with my sister. Bye"

"Bye" he said driving away

Maryland

"Mommy! Mommy!" Estine yelled getting in the house

"Girl stop yelling in the house" Evelyn said coming into the living room

"Sorry mommy"

"It's fine. Now what did you want to tell me and where is your sister?"

"Michele and I were walking back home and an old man stopped us and wanted to talk to her"

"So where is she?"

"Your daughter got in that big black Mercedes and left me by myself"

"She did what!"

"Estine why did you leave-"

"Oh shut up. Why are you only coming back now?"

"Estine left me while I was talking to this young man down the street"

"Lies, you went and got in the car with that old man"

"Shut up Estine, you know I did not get into that car. Stop with all the lying!" Michele yelled

"If she is lying then why are you only coming back now?"

"Because he stopped us to ask for directions to House Of Worship and while I was busy giving him the directions Estine left me there"

"Lies, from the pit of the devil's stomach" Estine said heading to the bedroom

"I am not ly-" Michele said getting interrupted by a slap

"Lying in my face after you just came back from church, going around getting in cars with men half your age." Evelyn said walking back to the kitchen

"Mommy please believe me. I am not lying" Michele said holding her cheek while weeping

"You are grounded for a month. Now go in your room and get ready for dinner"

"Yes ma'am" Michele said walking away sadly
