"I am your Angel of Music, come to me, Angel of Music..." I called out to her as I stood before her, the mirror no longer separating us. Her eyes screamed that she didn't trust me but I had cast my trance over her, causing her mind to be clouded and her body to act for her.
She shakily reached her small hand out to me. I gently grasped it and started to lead her down the pathway to my lair.
We reached the gondola and I rowed us across, trying not to focus on how utterly beautiful she was. I loved her so much, but I had to control myself.
She could never love me.
When we reached the shore, I gave her the smallest of smiles and helped her out of the boat. I led her over to the organ and we just gazed into each other's eyes for a minute.
Her eyes were so beautiful...stop it, Erik! I tried to control the love I felt for her, but it was starting to overpower me. I tore my gaze away, but then my eyes wandered back to her. She was looking at me in awe, and I started singing to her, my voice putting her in a deep trance.
"Nighttime, sharpens, heightens each sensation..." I started, looking at her lovingly.
"Darkness stirs, and wakes imagination. Silently the senses, abandon their defenses..." I trailed off, slowly walking towards her. She looked at me, a look of pure amazement on her face. She was falling into a trance; a deep trance, I may add.
"Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendor. Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender." I whispered, gazing at her as I moved closer.
"Turn your face away, from the garish light of day." I sang as I placed my fingertips under her chin and slowly tilted it to the side.
"Turn your thoughts away from cold, unfeeling light..." I continued, turning her head back towards me.
"And listen to the music of the night." I whispered in a musical tone as we gazed at each other for what was seconds but felt like hours. She was inches away, I could kiss her right then, but I knew I had to control myself. I backed up swiftly and she kept staring at me, a strange look in her eyes. It couldn't be...love, could it?
"Close your eyes and surrender to your darkest dreams. Purge your thoughts of the life you knew before." I slowly moved behind her and gently placed my hand on her abdomen, sending electricity shooting through my veins. Control yourself, Erik...I thought.
"Close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar..." I sang softly as I slowly trailed my hand upward, her head following it. It was almost as if I could control her movements, my trance almost fully casted on her.
"And you'll live as you've never lived before..." I whispered as her gaze followed me, a look of pure ecstasy in her deep brown eyes. I backed up, knowing that if I got too close I may lose control.
"Softly, deftly, music shall caress you. Hear it, feel it, secretly possess you." I noticed her eyes getting a little darker and cloudier and I knew I almost had full control of her.
"Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind, in this darkness which you know you cannot fight. The darkness of the music of the night."
"Let your mind start a journey through a strange, new world. Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be..." I continued, getting softer as I stood behind her.
"Only then, can you belong to me..." I nearly whispered. She lost all control and almost melted as she fell back into my arms. I gasped but held her tightly, swaying us back and forth gently.
"Floating, falling, sweet intoxication. Touch me, trust me, savor each sensation..." I slowly pulled away, making sure she was steady enough to stand on her own. I stood next to her, gazing at her lovingly.
"Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in, to the power of the music that I write. The power of the music of the night." I finished. She looked at me, her chest heaving and her eyes dark with some strange emotion I hadn't been able to decipher yet. Then she collapsed, and I caught her just before she hit the ground. She wasn't hard to carry considering she was as light as a feather. I gently laid her down on the swan bed in my lair and removed my cape, wrapping it around her.
"You alone can make my song take flight..." I started, leaning down over her although I knew she couldn't hear me.
"Help me make the music of the night..." I finished and gave her unconscious form one last fleeting glance before retreating back to my organ, the burning feeling of her skin against mine still faintly present.
