chap 2: broken memories

The Sawadas, as we all know, are a loving family. They are the ideal picture for the perfect family, loving mother, strong father, and three adorable kids that laugh and play. To outsiders, the Sawadas looks peaceful and happy, but what they don't know is that they hid a terrible secrets.

Nana and Iemitsu met during a mission, and yes, Nana was an assassin during her youth. You could say it was  "Love at First Sight". When they first saw each other, they completely ignored the real reason why they're there and just went into their little la la love land. Most people in the mafia had little to no emotions, and the same goes to the two, but once their eyes landed on each other, suddenly their long lost emotion came rushing into their hearts. From then on, Nana and Iemitsu did everything together, until they got married.

After the marriage, Nana and Iemitsu decided that it would be safer if they both quit the mafia altogether. With Nono's permission and protection, Nana's and Iemitsu's name were erased from the mafia world. Only a couple of people knew where they were. And of course, the couple would occasionally go back to check on Nono and his family.

The two lived a very peaceful life afterwards. No fighting and killing, no sudden attacks, it was just...peaceful.

Years later they had their sons, eldest Sawada Giotto, then the twins, Sawada Tsunayoshi and Sawada Nastu, who were younger by 5 years then Giotto. At first, Tsuna was so loved that it was hard to not notice him. The family adored their tuna fish because of his shyness and clumsiness, even his little brother who was younger then him by just 1 second! For some odd reason, they just thought our tuna fish needed more protection than anyone else, Tsuna had more innocence is what they said. Giotto would always bring the twins to the park and buy ice cream, Nana would take the boys to a shopping spread, and Iemitsu would take the two stronger boys to practice....stuff. While the three men went to do their manly stuff, Tsuna was stuck with Nana and a bunch of clothes. Not just any types of clothes, those were girls clothes. Tsuna didn't mind getting dressed in froufrou clothings, as long as he could spend time with his mommy, anything is worth it. That is, until that day.

It was a cloudy day, but it was perfect to play outside. The two years old Tsuna and Natsu decided to play ball with their older brother in they park with their mother watching from the side.

"Tsu-nii, catch!" Shouted Natsu.

"W-wait! don't throw too hard!" Tsuna yelled.

"I got it Tsuna!" Giotto joined in.

It was a very cute scene, especially when Tsuna tries to catch up to his brothers. He looked like a lost bunny when running.

The day was going well until Giotto threw the ball too hard and it landed into the forest behind them.

"I'll go get it!" shouted Natsu.

"Wait! I'll go with you Na-kun." Tsuna came running towards Natsu.

While the two were looking for their ball, a group of men lurked in the shadows.

"That's them right?" Whispered one of them .

"Yup, I'll get the brown eyed and you'll get the gold eyed one." Answered another.

Just as the twins were going back, the men jumped out and caught one of the twin. Tsuna struggled in the arms of the man.

"Let go of my brother you monster!" Cried Natsu. He fought with all his might, and finally, the man dropped Tsuna. But the attention quickly landed on him.

"Forget the other one, let's just take the stronger one!"

All the men charged at Natsu, knocking him out in the process. Tsuna couldn't do anything but watch as the men took away his brother. He was shocked at how people could be so cruel.

Moments later Giotto and Nana came over.

"Tsuna! What happened!? Where's your brother!?" Nana shouted.

Scared, Tsuna could only stare at the two figures with teary eyes.

"Tsuna, I need you to talk to us. Who took Natsu?" Asked Giotto.

"T-these men, th-they w-were s-so many, th-they t-took Na-kun. I'm s-scared, w-what's g-going on? Ni-chan, Mama?" Tears were falling from Tsuna's face, he's confused, who were those men and why did they took his brother away.

It took two days to find out that an enemy family took Natsu away for experimenting. Luckily the Vongola was able to track them down and erased them from the face of the earth.

Nana and Iemitsu were mad at themselves for letting this happen, but at the same time they decided that if they were ever gonna save Tsuna from the mafias, they had to ignore him so that other families won't ever find out who Tsuna is. The plan worked, but it broke the hearts of the Sawadas to see how lifeless and dull their Tsuna became in such a short amount of time.

Life went on as normal, but knowing that Tsuna is slowing breaking on the inside broke the family, but in order to protect their tuna fish, they went with the act. Until the day they were attacked again.

That morning wasn't one of those good ones as Iemitsu had to yell at Tsuna. After seeing how frightened the boy was, they kept telling themselves not to comfort the boy. Breakfast went on and the family noticed Tsuna leaving the room to eat outside. The brothers urged themselves not to follow for the sake of protecting Tsuna from harm, but that was a mistake.

Right after watching Tsuna left the room, a sudden feeling came to them, telling them that they need to follow Tsuna or something bad would happen. Just then they heard Tsuna screamed.

"Papa! Mama! Help! Giotto-nii! Natsu! Someone! Please! Who are these scary people? Why are they taking me away?"

Instantly, the family went into attack mode and charged out the door. Outside their gates were the same men from the last time they fought against, the same people that took Natsu. Iemitsu immediately punched the men and used his pickax while Nana used her knife throwing skills to fight against the group. The two brothers flung into action as well when they saw that their beloved brother was taken into the black car. They could see how terrified Tsuna was and tried to fight their way to the poor little boy. But it was too late as the car zoomed off with their tuna fish.

Iemitsu and Nana were devastated, they couldn't believe that after hiding their evidence from the mafia that they were still alive, their lives are still in chaos. They regret how they treated their Tsuna over the two years. Giotto and Natsu both felt as though it was their fault for leaving Tsuna, for letting him felt fear and neglect at such a young age.

The Sawadas regret everything, and they will get their Tsuna back no matter what. Even if it means going back to the world they vowed not to touch or see again, the Mafia.
