The massive warrior looked incredibly awkward perched between two wooden crutches, his leg heavily bound. The doctor was adjusting part of the wrapping to make in more comfortable. "So how do you know each other?" He finally pondered. Lincoln glared daggers into his back side. For a doctor he had been incredibly sneaky. Luckily though Valkyrie had only been holding the Bounty Hunter's hand, and about to reach for his stomach.

"Best friends," Lincoln finally stated. "We went hunting, going to get us some skins. I was about to get a boar, when the damn thing charged. He, the big fucking dummy thought it was going to kill me and attempted to save me. Well turns out he breaks a leg, after I killed the boar point something of a second before."

The doctor nodded, and stood up, hobbling to and fro with his old age. Lincoln watched him with his muscled arms crossed, and a blank look on his face. His stomach was sticking out awkwardly but the way he held himself made it look like he was just over weight. Still there was no mistaking the power behind each of his other fit limbs.

"Uh, is that why you are pregnant?" The doctor twitched his nose tilted his head to the side and sniffed again, "With his baby?"

Lincoln pressed a hand to his forehead. "Ey-ey-ey. You some sort of fae bitch too? With your fucking sniffy sniffy and heary heary skills?"

Valkyrie bit back a grin and the doctor scowled. "I am one of the oldest full fae's still alive, mind you."

"Thanks, oldy, I'm pregnant, and he shit for brains. Nice to meet you." Lincoln held out a hand, but the doctor refused to take it.

"Names Carlo, you disrespectful youngster, who taught you manners?"

"Well, certainly not my dead parents," Lincoln snorted.

"I hope you don't teach your kids that, hopefully sunshine here will have some imput," Carlo sniffed.

Lincoln rolled his eyes, and straightened his posture, not caring how much bigger it made his stomach look. "Thanks for the help oldy."

"No problem, now he should be good to go."

The Bounty Hunter nodded, "Come on dumb dumb, we should get going."

"You know, you schnivling piece of work, I could give you some herbs to take. It will ease the trip for you and give them extra nutrients, the smaller one is already lacking, I can hear it." The Bounty Hunter turned at once pushing back his pride and retort that he didn't do pregnancy pills.

He traced his stomach with a hand, and dipped his head. "I'd actually appreciate that," he said as Valkyrie hopped to a halt beside him and smiled slightly.

"Also," Valkyrie budded in his voice thick and deep, "Do you have any...anything that would help when it comes delievery time?"

"I do...." The old man got interrupted though, as Lincoln put his hands up. "Ay-oh, Imma go tend to the horses, and get them ready, why don't you two have a friendly little chat?" The Bounty Hunter was gone from the old little doctors office in a matter of minutes.

Valkyrie shrugged, "He's got a lot of pride."

"A man like you seems like you would deserve a much finer mate."

"Don't talk about Lincoln like that," Valkyrie snarled, "Or it will be the last of you."

Carlo merely smiled, "Ah, a true bond. I haven't seen a same sex pair of mates in nearly one hundred years, or ones so strongly connected. I wonder what makes you two so close. Maybe it's your professions."

"The herbs?"

"Ah, yes yes. I'll tell you some tricks to for when those babies come." He hobbled to the back, to an ancient dusty cabinate. "Because you and him are going to need all the help you can get. There hasn't been a birthing like this either on this entire continent in over a century--no one knows anything, but luckily for you I know a few things."

"Can you confirm how it's going to come out?"

"Well..." Carlo sighed, "Not his ass, so it's gonna be a tricky birth. No doubt long painful, and excruciating either."

"You should accompany us to Riften, my home country. Please....I don't want my Lincoln to die."

"Ah...but I am pinned here." An agonized look came across his face. "My own mate died centuries ago...buried in this very town under the weeping willow. He was a warrior, saved everyone from the clutches of the blood thirsty heirloom of the empire." The old man choked back tears, "I will forever guard him. I will never leave."

"I'm sorry," Valkyrie whispered, "The pain you must have went through. I didn't even lose my mate, but he almost rejected me....I thought my heart would crack in half...for him to die...I wouldn't survive more than a few days. How did you go on?"

"Our own children." The doctor sat down now, now that he was done bundling up a large quantity of items. "Believe it or not, my mate, my warrior, was actually the one who bared us a child." The old man started sobbing, "To save our baby, I had to cut him open."

"So he didn't die from the war?" Valkyrie choked out, as he sat on a wooden table. Carlo shook his head.

"Yes and no. Alexander was gravely wounded. He had went to war only the slightest bit pregnant, and saved us all, then he came back, with an adorable slightly swollen belly, only to die in a few months because one of his wounds prevented him from having the baby. He chose the baby though. I could have saved him but he wouldn't let me....I knew even if I did save him, and not our baby he would have let go...it was his time and he was ready."

"I'm so sorry," Valkyrie hissed, pain gripping his heart. He knew right now he would face the king. That he would bring Lincoln back to this man to have the baby. That Carlo could save him if something went wrong.

"Our little boy though," the old man smiled despite his tears, making Valkyrie's heart stop."Was taken, but I got to see him again today. Got to see what he has become, and though I wasn't able to care for him as a baby, he's so lucky to have a mate like you."
