Lincoln stood panting, in the door way of their room. Valkyrie was having his leg re-dressed by the doctor and jerked his head up. "What Lincoln?"

"We have to leave, now."

"We can't there isn't a ship until noon, and even then it's not ours. What is the matter my love?" Valkyrie responded with worry. Lincoln was now five months pregnant, and they had just made it to the sea. The king was catching up fast.

"I hooked up with a few of my friends, and word has it a convoy is rushing. Worse yet, Valk, the king is leading it!" Lincoln snapped adjusting his heavy coat and hiding his belly.

"I refuse to believe that," the blue eyed warrior responded, "The king just doesn't leave his palace."

"He's calling it a royal capture mission or...or...wait a royal hunting expedition actually."

"That's crazy," Valkyrie murmured, as the old doctor, Lincoln's father, patted his leg signaling he was done. The warrior then struggled to his feet.

"Valkyrie," the Bounty Hunter said softly all of a sudden his posture growing ridging. He was looking at the floor at first then raised his gaze to meet Valkyrie's confidently. His brown eyes dark and ominous. "I'm not leaving. I'm going to kill Katarin." He stalked across the wooden floor of their room and snatched up his bows.

"What!?" Valkyrie snarled, "Are you insane!"

"I'm going to have help. You stay here and keep, Carlo safe," he commanded strapping daggers to his thighs then slinging the cross bow across his back and attacking a quiver to his waist.

"Lincoln!" Valkyrie snarled, hopping in his way, "Your five months pregnant! You are not fighting!"

"I need to know I can have as safe as a birth as possible, and the only way to do so is get rid of that man. I need to know, that if I'm not going to make it, you're going to be safe," his voice died off in a hiss, as Valkyrie dropped his crutches, and grabbed his shoulders.

"Linclon, please, you can't risk the dumplings." Both of their gazes fell to Lincoln's swollen belly. He was showing pretty well for five months. It also limited his agility, and speed.

Lincoln gripped Valkyrie's wrists gently and gave them a gentle squeeze, "Valk. You can't stop me, I have to do this. We are cornered. If we get on that boat, Katarin will launch a navel attack. We will be over taken before we get a quarter of the way into the sea."

"Lincoln, please...." the warrior whimpered knowing there was absolutely nothing he could do to stop his mate. If he had his physical condition with him, he would attempt it. Even use force for the first time if he had to. But now all he had were is words.

His mate lifted a gentle hand and placed it on his face, "Valk, I must go prepare. Rumor has it, they are to be here by night fall."

"Lincoln...." the warrior whimpered as the Bounty Hunter pulled away. For being five months pregnant he hadn't lost an ounce of his strength or the rest of his compose. His weight gain was only in his stomach, and other than his speed and agility he was fluid and smooth--with a still deadly lethal grace.

The smaller man stopped, and gave a heavy sigh. Without warning he charged back and threw himself into Valkyrie's arms, "Whatever happens, Valky, know I love you. Know you gave me light, when I have had none for so long. Know that you were the first person I have ever loved. Know that you were the first person to understand me."

The warrior stroked Lincoln's soft fuzzy hair with one hand, and his sturdy back with the other. He felt as his mate's stomach pressed against his own, and felt as their hearts beat in sync. "You above all keep alive Lincoln, keep our dumplings safe you hear me?" Valkyrie sputtered. He wanted to fight this battle so bad for his mate. He was the expendable one! Not his little Lincoln. Not his pregnant little Bounty Hunter! Not his beloved beyond words mate!

"I promise," Lincoln replied, "It ends here, but not for you and me. It ends for Katarin." He pulled away, and then was gone within seconds. Valkrie sank to his knees with a sigh.

Carlo cleared his throat his own eyes watering. This was beginning to seem like history was to repeat itself. But he shook his head and tapped the only other thing he brought with imself beside his bag of herbs and tools.

"It was my mates," he murmured as he opened it. Inside was a bow Valkyrie had never seen so finely crafted before. A massive recurve longbow that that seemed to glow golden, that seemed to be alive, that seemed to be breathing. "Use it and keep our Lincoln safe. I'll help you find a wall to set up on."
