Jack’s POV
All weekend long we laid in bed and watched movies other than when we got up to go for a walk or get something to eat or drink. Everyone came into the room last night and we discussed safety procedures and I got all the guys’ phone numbers on my speed dial. This morning I got up out of bed and I was instantly exhausted. I was bigger now and carrying so much weight around was exhausting. I went into the bathroom and took a shower washing off all the tension in my body. I got physically sick last night before I went to bed and it kept me up until four in the morning. Jared had been frantic and worried because I hadn’t opened the door. I just hated when he saw me like that though. I got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around myself and pulled my wet hair back into a messy bun. I went into the closet and grabbed a stretchy black short sleeved dress and put some red leggings on. I went back into the bedroom and I felt arms snake around me. “Morning honey”, he said kissing my cheek.
“Morning handsome”, I said kissing him quickly then headed downstairs. Suddenly he swept me up off my feet and I laughed. “Hey”, I said tapping him on the nose, “bad”.
“Very bad”, he said standing me up and kissed me with meaning. He pressed me up against the wall and we had a full scale make out session. Suddenly kicking distracted me and I broke away excitedly. “What?” he asked confused.
“They’re kicking”, I said fighting the tears that were threatening to fall. He put his hand on my belly and I felt them kick again and his whole face lit up like Christmas had come early.
“God I love you”, he said kissing me again, “and our child”. Our children that sounded so perfect I couldn’t wait until the baby was born. It was going to be a boy we found that out on Thursday and Jared was thrilled then too. We went into the living room and the other guys were in the living room because the other babies were kicking today too.
“Morning”, Randy said walking in.
“Morning, how did everyone sleep?” I asked casually.
“Good”, Thor said walking in.
“Alright where’s the orange juice?” I asked.
“Should you be drinking that after last night?” Jared said unsure.
“My stomach is settled again”, I said going over to the fridge and pulling out the orange juice and something fell out of the fridge, a dead black cat. I covered my mouth my stomach doing a flip and I suddenly felt sick again. The other girls walked in and screamed but the boys didn’t see it.
“What?” Dan asked trying to peak around me. It twitched and I took about twenty steps back. Jared grabbed me and covered my face.
“Get rid of it”, he said picking me up and taking me back upstairs, “Jack are you alright?”
“They were in the house Jared while we were sleeping”, I said starting to shake.
“They didn’t hurt anyone this time it’s going to be alright you should go back to sleep”, he said opening our door.
“No I’d feel better if we went to school”, I said grabbing my bag.
“Are you sure?” he asked uncertainly.
“Yeah”, I said putting the bag over my shoulder.
“Here you shouldn’t be weighing yourself down”, he said grabbing his backpack and took my bag. I’d given myself a mani pedi last night so I had red finger nails and toenails. We got into his car and he drove us over to school. “How did you sleep last night?” he asked curiously.
“Alright I guess sorry I locked the door”, I said looking out the window.
“You don’t have to hide anything from me Jack”, he said pulling into a free spot.
“I know that now I just don’t like being around anyone when I’m sick”, I explained.
“Don’t shut me out”, he said then got out. I got out and he went inside but I saw someone fairly and got distracted. I knew that guy his mother was my mom’s best friend he was a sorcerer. He was cute now and well muscled but he was a witch and I didn’t trust him. I walked over acting casual and stopped at his car.
“Jacquelyn”, he said turning around.
“Bryan”, I said crossing my arms.
“Nice to see you again”, he smirked. He wanted something no one could bullshit me.
“My parents sent you”, I said sitting on the roof of the car.
“She called in the entire coven”, he said gesturing to the vehicles around his, “are you going to come quietly?”
“Not likely”, I said shrugging.
“You’re being uncooperative”, he said calmly, “You haven’t changed at all in all these years have you”.
“Probably not”, I said nodding, “how many are at the school?”
“Sixteen and the adults are at the manor”, he said coolly.
“Good”, I said then started walking away.
“You know you still owe me for last time”, he said catching up with me.
“No I don’t it was your brother’s fault I was in that situation you can’t make me give up this life so if I were you I won’t bother trying”, I said speeding up.
“I’m not giving up that easily”, he said catching up with me.
“Go away Brian or I’ll set my boyfriend on you”, I said heading to first class.
“I’m not worried about that mutt he can’t stop me from seeing you”, he said sitting down next to me in class, “we can change things around here with a snap of our fingers”.
“Good for you now leave me alone”, I said pulling my pencil out of my pocket.
“No your boyfriend will be here any minute so I just wanted to remind you that you’ll never be one of them you’ll always be one of us”, he said then the door opened and he went and sat with other witches.
“Where were you?” Jared said distracting me.
“I saw someone I recognized and I got distracted”, I said sourly, “sorry”.
“Who did you recognize was it a guy?” he said hurt.
“There’s witches in this classroom right now Jared”, I said quietly.
“What?” he said protectively.
“Relax they aren’t going to cause trouble yet”, I assured him forcing him to sit down.
“Be careful they aren’t to be trusted witches are shifty”, he said anxiously.
“You’ll never be one of them you’ll always be one of us”, Bryan had said. He was right and I knew it now I’d never be the girl I was before my parents arrived.
“So what do you want to do today?” he asked.
“I don’t know”, I said looking at Bryan, “anything”.
