"Boyeong, how's your tutoring going?"
Boyeong looked up to her mother.
"I'm already second in the class! My tutor's very helpful."
Her mother didn't catch the affectionate tone in her voice.
All she caught was the second.
"Boyeong, only second? Why not first?"
"Mother, the boy who holds first is a genius, I don't think I can beat him."
Boyeong cowered at her mother's disapproving face.
"If you worked harder, you'd find the knowledge."
Boyeong winced, looking down in shame.
"Now, do you know the boy?"
Boyeong avoided her mother's glance, shaking her head.
She felt bad for lying, but she knew that if her mom knew she was being tutored by her competition, she'd stop the tutoring.
She wasn't sure why the thought of not speaking to Namjoon caused such a panic in her heart, but she had an inkling.
She really hoped she was wrong.
She had grown to like him more than anyone else.
She never had many friends, but this was nothing like she remembered.
She never got along well with people; she didn't understand why Namjoon made her feel so nice.
She was kidding herself, of course.
She knew.
She knew exactly what it was.
