As they sat eating their dinner with opened windows and lit candles, watching the sunset. They were both painfully quiet, Nic didn't know many words to hold a decent conversation and his Cel didn't know Romanian, he could always teach her.

When a movement out of the corner of his eyes happened, he looked straight out of the window. There was a knock at the door before he saw a person dart into the woods. The man ran out the door without bothering to put on shoes, leaving Celestina confused at the dinner table.

Cel stood up from her seat and walked to the front door, there was a white envelope taped to the door. She peeled it off and looked for a name, there wasn't one.

Nic came back in a storm, cursing and ranting in his native tongue, Cel just ignored him and continued to stare at the envelope.

When he noticed what she was looking at he quickly snatched it out of her hands and tore it open. There was a neatly folded piece of paper sitting at the bottom. He pulled it out and it was written in Romanian.

(I'm putting it in English)

"To whom it may concern,

Dearest Nicholi Videl, it has been a while. I know what you're doing and I know who it is. Just be careful, it would be a shame if someone could find out.

Yours truly."

Nic crumpled the paper into a ball and stuffed it into his pocket.

"Wh-" But before Cel could say the first word he glared at her, shutting her up. Nic didn't mean to, he just knew what this person was trying to do. They were going to take away his Celestina.

Nic moved around to all of the windows and locked them one by one and closing the curtains. The man didn't know if the person was currently watching them or not and he didn't want to risk it.

"What did the letter say, Nic? Why is it so bad that you have to close everything, it just so happened to look nice outside." When she moved to open a curtain and quickly ran towards her and grabbed her wrist tightly in his hand to to paint where he could almost fracture her hand.

"It is none of your concern." Nic gritted out.

"Well if it has something to do with me then it is my concern. Is it someone I know?"

"No." He knew that she wouldn't be able to translate it so he reached into his pocket and tossed it in her crushed hand before he released her. Nic didn't seem to know the extent of the pain on which he had just caused his Cel, but he turned too quickly to see the red marks forming into bruises already.

Her eyes scanned the paper, she didn't know what she was reading. The only words she could make out were his name. Nicholi Videl.

"Well," she started to say. "Are you going to tell me what this says or not?"

"No." Was all he said and he just walked away from her again. He knew that he should stay close to her so that he could keep her safe but she was getting on his last nerves and he didn't have one or two to spare. Immediately, without realizing what he was doing he started to whistle really loudly and tap his hand against his leg.

"It's not like I could tell anyone else. C'mon Nicholi." At the mention of his full name he seemed to snap. It was like someone blew out a flame to the last bit of sanity he had left in his mind.

Nic grabbed the bag from under the floorboards and pulled out a hefty sedative. When Celestina came into the room again, his brain didn't register that she was there. She was just another threat. She was just someone who was trying to take away his happiness again. He couldn't let that happen. Nic put the sedative in his pocket and stalked towards her slowly.

Cel's eyes widened in fear. The Nic that had taken her and was trying to convince her that they were made for each other was no longer there. Standing in front of her was a man with lifeless eyes and murderous intentions.

"Nic, it's okay. Hey, if it was something I said, I'm sorry. Please don't kill me. Nic, Nic!" She started yelling by this point, forgetting the letter was in her hand, she dropped it and ran. The murderous man didn't chase after her, no, he loved the chase. Nic would find her eventually.

Something deep within his was telling him to stop but he just didn't listen to that voice of reason. There was no point.

As Cel ran throughout the house and outside still barefoot, she looked behind her. Nic was just standing in the doorway with his arms crossed and wearing a smirk.

She had no doubt that he would find her. She just didn't want to be killed. She didn't even know if it was something that she did or said or if it was that note and he was just trying to get rid of the evidence.

Her feet landed on a rock as soon as she disappeared within the tree line but she couldn't find it in herself to stop and tend to her now throbbing foot. Cel didn't want to die. The girl didn't want to be here. She just wanted to go home to her shitty apartment and to her low paying job that had probably fired her for not showing up. What she wanted to do was find the damn police station. Maybe she could go into that witness protection service. The one she'd seen on a show when she was just a young teenager.

As roots got in her way and she was practically skipping through the woods, she had to stop, she just couldn't take anymore air into her lungs. Cel looked behind her and seen that she wasn't being followed. Secretly, she had hoped that he look a wrong turn at a different tree and forgot about her. Or at least had calmed down. She didn't want to do this but she didn't want to give up and die.

Cel stood up and turned to run again but stopped when she seen an animal in front of her. It was a deer. As if sensing something bad, its ears twitched and it lept away, running into the woods, much like she should be doing now.

She didn't even look behind her as she started to run but as she took that first sprinting step, something was plunged into her neck and she felt in a heap on the dirt below her.

Nic capped the needle and placed it back in his pocket before he bent down and scooped her into his arms.

He didn't know why she was running, he just knew that he needed to keep her safe and kept that she wouldn't be safe to the cabin any longer. It had been invaded by someone he wanted to forget.
