The next day Lauren's mind was consumed with distraction by the beautiful girl that had sat beside her at the park. She couldn't fathom why the random girl would intent on ignoring her so freshly, pure, and with no remorse. Most girls went crazy just when Lauren looked at them and here this beautiful stranger was, just complexly unphased by her. Lauren convinced herself the gorgeous stranger was straight. She knew it was beyond arrogant to believe someone proteins to a different sexuality just because they wouldn't acknowledge her but that idea made her feel better.

After school Lauren left straight  to the park, she waited almost 2 hours for the girl but she didn't return.

The next day she waited again. This time still, no return.

Monday: no return.

Tuesday: no return

Wednesday: no return

Lauren questioned if it was normal for her to be waiting on this person she doesn't even know. The girl could be a total nutcase for all she knows... or maybe she was the fucking nutcase for waiting for her all week. But, she still waited.

Now it was the weekend and Lauren got invited to a night pool party. She decided to go because she needed to get her mind off the stranger and things at home. Her friends, Normani and Dinah, have been close to her since freshmen year of high school. They all became renowned quickly for their gorgeous looks and seemingly mysterious minds at Miami University High. Everyone was intrigued by their lively personalities with looks that can kill and boy did they. Lauren put on a short black dress that kissed her curves delightfully and left, without a word to her parents.

"Damn Lo, you look good" Dinah catcalled Lauren loud enough over the music and raving people at the party when Lauren walked in

"Damn Lo, you look good" Dinah catcalled Lauren loud enough over the music and raving people at the party when Lauren walked in.
"Thanks babe. You look hot too" Lauren smiled before confusion took over her face. "Where's Normani?"
"She went to get us drinks"
Lauren nodded before looking around. Everyone seemed happy but she wondered if they were truly happy or this was their form of addiction to ease the pain. She knew this was hers.
"Let's go sit by the pool" Dinah interrupted her thoughts but Lauren nodded. They decided to sit by the pool close enough to the Edge of the roof so they could see the amazing view of Miami city. "So how are things at home Lo?" Lauren shrugged. "Same as usual I guess" followed with a forced half smile. Dinah frowned sad for her friend. "Things will get better. You got to stick around and see it through"
Lauren smiled warmly at her friend but still internally unassured.
"I hope you guys like sex on the beach" Normani interrupted trying to contain the three drinks in her hands. "Yessss" Lauren shouted in sudden excitement. She needed a drink but one not to get her incredibly intoxicated. She was driving tonight. "Thanks babe" Dinah kissed her girlfriend's cheek after receiving the drink before placing her arm around her. Lauren looked at both women extremely confused. "Babe?" She asked while examining Dinah's arm around Normani in a seemingly not so friendly way. Normani blushed, uncontrollably and Dinah giggled. "Um, is there something I don't know?" The green eyed beauty questioned again.
"Well, we made it official" Normani answered before glancing at her better half. "What the fuck. Why didn't you guys tell me?" Lauren would be lying if she told herself this didn't really piss her off.
"Relax Jauregui. It's only been a couple of days and we wanted to surprise you" Dinah answered. "What the hell. How? Give me all the details!" She demanded.
"Can I tell her? Oh my god." Normani asked with an approving nod followed by Dinah. "Well, Dinah came over because we were going to Netflex and Chill by definition and then it turned into the slang"
Lauren eyes widened before she smirked at her friends in front of her. Suddenly her frustrations left her. These were her friends and she couldn't stay mad at them. "The next morning Dinah told me she had feelings for me and I did too so we decided to try this out" she finished with a smile and awh at her new girlfriend.
Lauren made a disgusted face. "Oh god, I'm going to be the third wheel"
"Lo when you going to get you a girl and settle in a legit relationship?"
"Yeah, we could go on double dates bitch!" Normani followed.
The beautiful stranger instantly traced Lauren's mind without permission. "Never" she answered. "Girl, you got spend your whole life shame walking" Mani joked but as every joke has some truth behind it.
"Oh, well I'm happy for you guys and I foreshadowed this a long time ago, just saying" she smiled dodging the otherwise topic of conversation.

Later the girls danced, drank a little more, and Lauren almost made out with a couple of girls but mentally couldn't. She felt like she was cheating on the beautiful stranger for unknown reasons. The random feelings annoyed the hell out of her. She didn't understand why she couldn't this 1/7 billion person out of her mind.
"Hey, I'm about to leave. Lauren informed her friends who were dancing on the dance floor."okay, drive safe" "we love you" Mani followed after her girlfriend. Lauren gave her friends a quick hug before leaving. "Something seemed off about her tonight, don't ya think?" Normani asked confusingly. "Yeah, she'll be fine though" Dinah smiled reassuringly.

Lauren loved driving in the city at night. She always loved the lights and the energy of people at night. She never understood why people said nothing good was out during this time. It seemed like everything bad left your body every night. Feelings, trapped emotions, and suppressed secrets seemed to have always gave her break when the moon was out. Unlike people, the city was always alive. No matter what time it was the big buildings that were always breathing, giving life to people who felt dead inside.... Starbucks; interrupted and consumed Lauren's mind when she turned right and saw the beautiful coffee factory lit up. A vanilla bean Carmel frappe sounded more than good to her. She parked on the edge of the sidewalk before entering the building. Even though it was 2:00am many people were there, reading, talking, or researching on their laptops.

"Excuse me, Miss" the worker called but Lauren was struck by the familiar side profile.

There the beautiful stranger was, reading another book, at 2:00am, on a Saturday night, at fucking Starbucks.... of course.
