The hellhound carries us through the familiar area. In the distance I can see that same castle I'm always taken to. Demons still refuse to meet my eye, or the hellhound's. Avery's still unconscious, every now and then I have to tilt his body to the side to prevent him from falling, its getting irritating to be honest.
What's going to happen once someone finds out Avery's missing? And me?
Yeeaah I'm pretty sure your mommy doesn't give a fuck.
She's not my only family you know. I have uncles and aunts, cousins...Avery keeps in touch more than I do.
.....we'll see how it goes...
...I feel you're more quiet than usual, Pena.
That's because the merge is almost complete. Its just our minds...I'll let you know when its over.
We approach the large double doors instead of my usual shimmering entrance. They open by themselves and I'm surprised when its not Death on the other side. Standing there with his arms crossed is Ares. So far I've spoken to him the least, he doesn't seem so keen when I'm around anyway.
His face grimaces in disgust as the hellhound carries me in. "You brought a human! In here!"
No idiot. I brought Pinoccio. "I couldn't just leave him in the streets...he's my brother after all," I say quietly. I climb off the dog. Ares mumbles something before walking over to us and picking Avery up, throwing him over his broad shoulder. "Follow me." He turns around and walks away. I follow him and the hellhound follows me.
"Did you send this?" I ask, pointing my thumb back at the animal.
"No. Death sent it to track you. You weren't in your usual areas so he thought something was suspicious," he explains.
"Where is Death anyway? And Malady?" I don't feel comfortable being alone with Ares one bit. The god of war doesn't exactly have a pleasant aura.
"Doing their jobs," he grunts. "Its about time you start doing yours too." I realise that he's led me to my room. "What do I do with this?"
"Er. Just put him on Pena's bed. I'll deal with him." I force an anxious smile as Ares does what I ask without question. "Wait. What do I do with this?" I point at the hellhound again.
Ares looks at it for a moment, "We could return it to it's god....or you could find it a new master. I don't care." He turns around and walks away. "Find me when you're done."
The hellhound licks the side of my face and I giggle. "Aside from the fact that your a demon dog, you're not so bad..." I ruffle the fur on it's side of the neck. Its larger than the average dog all right, big as a rhino, but I'll manage as long as its house trained. "Now to give you a name. Let's see if you're male or female first....."

~Death~
I frown at the golden aura glowing around the little girl's soul. People are dying all over the world because of war, murder, illness, its disgusting to say the least. The hard part is that innocent people are dying as well, just because they're at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Carefully, I pick the soul up. I let it float in my skeletal palm, admiring it before throwing it into the air. I watch it shoot up and disappear into the clouds. Rest in peace little one.
I float out of the alley way, leaving the body where the killer had dumped it. I'll let the humans take care of that. "Death!" I look up at the voice, and frown when I see who it is. They're only three reapers in existence, and Raven is one of them. She smiles down at me from the top of the building. Fortunately for us, invisibility is one of our qualities. She takes a drag from her cigar and blows up before speaking. "I see you've gotten first dips..."
