Chapter 9

I woke up the next morning feeling really good for some reason. I turned around and noticed that Marcus wasn't there. I figured he was in the bathroom so I watched tv for about 5 minutes. Then he didn't come back. I got up and walked into the kitchen to see that he wasn't there. I checked the living room and the game room and still didn't find him. I went back into the room to text Marcus to see where he is. I unlocked my phone to see that I had a text from him.

Marky 😻💕💍 - Hey Jess. Sorry I left without telling you but I didn't wanna wake your cute ass up. I have a football game tonight so I'm with the team at the gym. I'll see you later 😘

I wonder why he didn't tell me about this game last night. I'm actually happy for him. It's his first game. I have to be there no matter what.

To: Marky 😻💕💍 - Okay bae. What time is your game?

I knew he wasn't gonna text me right back so I got up and put my phone in my bra. That's the problem with pajama shorts now a days. They never have pockets. I went back into the living room and found Khalil and Mya sitting on the couch watching Spongebob. They're such kids.

"Hey guys." I said.

"Hey Jess, where's Marcus?"

"He's at the gym with his team, he has a game tonight."

My phone vibrated. "And speaking of Marcus he texted me back."

Marky 😻💕💍 - Oh I'm your "bae" now 😏 mmm lol. But the game is at 7:00 and I better see your ass there.

To: Marky 😻💕💍 - Psh , whatever Marcus ✋ I'll be there.

"His game is at 7, you guys going?"

"Are you going?" Khalil asked me.

"Duh! Why wouldn't I go to my BOYFRIENDS game?"

"Yea whatever!" he said.

"Mya you wanna go to the mall today? I have to get something to wear."

"Yea sure. What time we leaving?" I checked my phone and saw that it was 12:00am.

"About 1:00." I went back into the room I was staying in and picked out my clothes. It was the middle of September so I picked out my Forever 21 Minnie Mouse sweatshirt, a pair of black jeans, and my Jordan 11 Concords. I went into the bathroom and took my shower and all that good stuff. When I got out the shower it was already 12:50. I was in the shower for almost 30 minutes. What the hell. I got dressed and wet downstairs to wait for Mya. She came downstairs looking just as cute as I did. We got into her 2013 red two door Honda and we were on our way. When we got there we went into Hollister, Against All Odds, and Forever 21. By the time we were done it was already 5:30. We quickly drove back to Khalil's house. I decided I wanted to take another shower and straighten my hair. I took a 5 minute shower. I got out and straightened my hair. I then got dressed. ( outfit to the side ) I ran downstairs and found Mya and Khalil on the couch waiting for me. We all got into Khalil's truck and we were in our way. I checked my phone and it was 7:07.

"Damn we're gonna be late." I said.

"Its your fault!" Khalil said back.

"Shut up boy."

After about 10 minutes we were there. we only missed 3 minutes of the first quarter. We walked to the top of the bleachers and took our seats. I scanned the field for Marcus. I then saw him on the sideline. His team on was defense so I figured he plays on the offensive team. Then the other teams quarterback threw an interception. Yay! Marcus put his helmet back on, looked at me, and then went into the field. He plays the running back and wide receiver. When the play started, Marcus ran down the field. The quarterback threw the ball straight to him. Marcus caught the ball and right when he caught it, he was tackled. It was a very hard hit. The player from the other team got from on top of him, but when he did ... Marcus didn't move. His coach ran over to him and kneeled by his side. I didn't know what was going on and Marcus still wasn't moving. What happened to my baby!?
