Partners In Crime

Chapter 1

After being ignored once again, Jack decided to continue with his job and forget about his pleas. He went into a small town in the United States that reminded him of Burgess, his hometown. This one looked a lot more modern, but he could see that some of the people were like the ones he knew, friendly and like family. Without paying attention to his surroundings, he continues making it snow and only stopped in front of a few weird buildings. But remembering that he felt so alone, he went to look for some children to play with. All that was forgotten when he saw a boy walking alone. The boy looked like he was about to blow up or punch something or someone, so Jack decided to follow him and maybe help him cool off. So with that mischievous idea in mind, they went into the woods.
At first, the boy just walked further into the woods and Jack got a little worried that he would do something dangerous or stupid, maybe both. The boy stopped and punched one of the trees, soon he started shouting at the top of his lungs. That was when Jack understood that the boy wasn't going to do anything too drastic, but still decided to stop him by sending some cold winds towards him. Jack knowing what to do move closer and that was when the boy stopped death cold in his tracks. He looked around and Jack felt relieved once he knew he was hidden by the other trees. Then the boy started to shout again and Jack was surprised since he knew he couldn't be heard. 

- Come out! I know you're there! 

Since nothing happened and he felt like it was directed towards him, he decided to come out.

- Finally! Who are you?!?- shouted the kid
- Wait, you can see me?- asked Jack completely perplexed
- See you, hear you; what's your point? And answer me!-
Jack happily answered with the prospect of making new friends and one close to his "age".
- I'm Jack Frost, the spirit of winter and the Guardian of fun! And you are?
- None of your business!- shouted the boy and started to run away from Jack

He needed answers and he couldn't lose that boy. It only took a few turns and he lost sight of the boy, not even the wind could find him, almost like he had disappeared. Jack was about to go into town to look for him, but one look at the sky and Jack groan. The northern lights were shining, meaning he had to go to the North Pole and forget about the mysterious boy, at least for now. With a sigh he called the wind and off he went. 

After some time, he finally arrived and the others were already there with serious expressions. 

- Soooo, what did I miss?- asked Jack with a lazy smile, hiding all his confusing thoughts
- You forgot about today?- asked a very surprised Tooth
- Maybe, was it the kangaroo's birthday?- asked Jack
- FROSTBITE, HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT I'M A BUNNY?!?- shouted Bunnymund
- I won't understand until you turn back to your adorable small form.- taunted Jack and Tooth spoke to stop them from fighting
- Jack, today is our monthly meeting.-
- Right, sorry about that! I don't know where my head was!- said Jack towards all the guardians
- Do not worry Jack! You're here now, da?- said North making Jack smile

Soon, they started to talk about the different events of that month. But North had to leave early since it was Christmas and he was busy. Jack wanted to leave too, but he didn't have a good reason to do so and he didn't want to tell the others about the boy. Maybe when he had the answers that he wanted.

- Alright, Frosty spit it out!- said Bunny
- What do you mean, Kangaroo?- asked Jack keeping his coolness
- Yes, Jack, you're definitely hiding something!- said Tooth
- I don't know what you guys are talking about.- said Jack
- It's okay not to tell us, Jack! Anyways, I have to go, but see you soon.- said Tooth before flying away
- Then I'll be going too!- shouted Bunny

He went through a door instead of his tunnels, but Jack didn't care since he could go and investigate the mysterious boy sooner. Quickly flying off, he didn't notice Bunny and North following in the sleigh.
