It was another normal and boring day; no it was worse than that because it was close to Christmas. After the whole deal with Ghost Writer and his poem, Danny had learned the truth meaning of the holidays but still didn't like it that much. That being said, Danny had a pretty crappy day. It started with no friends to hang out with since Sam and Tucker had started going out and Danny had become an annoyance to them. Then having to go out and shop for some groceries, thanks mom (heavy sarcasm). When that was done and he returned to the house he heard shouting, of course, the famous Christmas argument. He quickly left the groceries in the kitchen and then left the house to go to the park. Once there he just sat in a secluded area wanting to open the gifts from all the ghost but knowing he had to wait for the truce or he get in trouble. Like this, the minutes became hours and night soon came.

- Time's up!-

With that he walked out of the park and towards his house, it was a short walk and as he neared he still could hear shouting.

- I really shouldn't be surprised! -

He didn't want to deal with them and no-one wanted to deal with him, so he continues walking until reaching the woods. It was time to vent, scream and chill. After discovering his Ghostly Wail, Danny had learned that screaming did wonders with his stress levels and that is what he did. He screamed about his friends, his family and he was going to scream about his loneliness when his Ghost Sense went off. At first, he froze and then shouted.

- Come out! I know you're there!

Nothing, but then a boy came out of the shadows. He looked like he could be his Ghost form's twin, except for the eyes. Danny did the usual interrogation, but the moment he heard that the other boy, Jack, says that he was a spirit and ask about Danny's name, he decided to get away. Running at first, then turning invisible and intangible, flying silently. Soon he had arrived at his house and glancing at his cellphone, it was early since it was eight o'clock. Danny decided to go to sleep since he felt that something major was about to happen.

~~~A few hours later~~~
Danny's Ghost Sense went off again, but he didn't feel any danger and when he opened his eyes he could tell the reason. The ghost that had activated his "alarm" was Clockwork and like always he had a calm expression on his face.
- Clocky to what do I owe the pleasure of seeing you?-
- I'm afraid that I come with grave news.-
- Well, but that's nothing new. So, is the world ending, is someone dying or did I do something stupid? I mean more than usual...- asked Danny in a tired voice
-  Unfortunately, the events that will soon follow are one that you cannot prevent.-
- What are these events, exactly?-
- But Daniel, you have two choices...- continue Clockwork ignoring Danny's words
- And those choices are...- asked Danny a bit annoy at being ignored
- First, you could stay and confront your parents as they interrogate you about your status. Thus leading to your capture, torture and later the destruction of everything by your hands.-
Danny was left speechless, he honestly thought that his parents would have accepted his status as a Halfa. After all, the Ghost Portal was their creation as much as he was, in more than one way you could even say.
- Second, you could escape when the opportunity arises and many of your troubles would disappear.
- For how long do I have the chance to escape?- asked Danny after some time in silence
- Two days and I will be taking my leave now.- said Clockwork, but before he could leave Danny jumped towards him
- Thank...you...- said Danny between sobs
- I'll always be watching over you, my young charge!-
After thirty minutes, when Danny had calmed down, Clockwork took his leave. It took ten more minutes for Danny to silently go to the bathroom and clean his face, it still looked like he had cried. So with a small powered ectoblast, he let the warm it provided to eliminate the traces of tears and it seems like nothing had happened. With all of that done, he returned to his bedroom hoping to get some sleep and letting tomorrow be a day for planning his escape. Suddenly his Ghost Sense went off two times in a row and he could only think "well, there goes that plan" and "I really need to do something about the Portal and the Ghosts before I'm gone".
That was when he notice the room become a bit darker than usual and he had a hunch of who was one of the Ghosts...
- Well, what a surprise! What can little old me do for the Big Bad Boogeyman?- said Danny while sitting in his bed with a pleasant smile
- I see that you are still as humorless as ever.-
