Holes X Percy Jackson

Chapter 5

Jason POV

I woke up to a horn being blown. I sat up and looked around. Percy and Leo were on the floor probably surprised by the sound. Me, Frank, and Nico were all used to it by being at Camp Jupiter. The D- Tent boys were hustling around and trying to wake Armpit. I got changed and went outside.

Yesterday at supper I recognized Zero. Or should I say Hector. I meet him one day in New York while on a quest. We talked and talked. Then suddenly a monster scorpion came out of no where and attacked me. I told Hector to run and he did. I haven't seen him since. I grab a shovel from row D out of the Library. I also grab a honey soaked tortilla and stuff it in my mouth. " Sup Jason." I turned around to see Squid. " Oh hey." I say. "So I guess your already used to the mornin routine." He said. " Um yeah." I said. " OK boys let's go dig!" Shouted Mom. Uncle drives away in his pickup.

I sling my shovel over both my shoulders and start to walk the direction Uncle went. Squid walked beside me while he has his toothpick in his mouth. Hector leads the walk to the desert. Maybe 10 minutes later we arrive at the designated digging spots. D-Tent goes and dig at their spots. " You'll dig here." Uncle says and spits out an sunflower seeds. " Now if you find anythin intrestin you either tell me or Pendanski." He explained. Then he left. My spot was next to Squid and Armpit.

I push my shovel into the dirt real easy and pull out about 5 inches of sand. I put it in a pile a little ways away from my hole. After 30 minutes I have a foot deep hole. I look around to see that the rest of the demigods are about a foot deep also. Uncle came in his pickup about 2 hours later and I was 3 feet deep. Everyone got up and went to the truck. I went in line. I was behind Hector with Percy behind me along with Frank, Nico, and Leo. "Next." Uncle said. I handed him my canteen. " How you doin on your first hole Jason?" He asked. " Fine." I say. He finishes filling the canteen and hands it back to me.

I take a few sips and start to work on my hole again. When Mom came with lunch I just had a few more inches to go until done. " We have ham and cheese sandwiches, apples, and gram crackers." Mom said. I grab a apple and gram crackers. I see Squid hiding a bunch if gram crackers behind his back.

I smile to myself and sit down in front of my hole. I'm about to take a bite of my apple when..." You have to eat somthin Nico I don't want what happened last time." I hear Percy say. " And your not the boss of me." Nico snaps. "I just don't want Will to worry. I made a promise to him before we left that I will make sure you eat." Percy says. "I'm not eating!" Nico yells. Now everyone is staring.

Squid POV

Percy and Nico started arguing. Something about Nico not eating. Then Jason walks over and shoves a sandwich in Nico's mouth. "Normally I don't agree with Percy since he is a Seweed Brain but he is right you know. We don't want the past to repeat itself." Jason said. After he said that the new kids all had a hint of sadness in their eyes. "Okay" Nico said and walked back to his hole along with Percy to his own. Jason walks back over to his hole. I wink at him and continue to dig.

5 minutes later I finish my hole and spit. I pick up my canteen and shovel and walk around the diggers. "You done already?" Asked Caveman. I turn my head and smirk. "This? It's child play." I say and continue on to camp.
