Jessica's thoughts were interrupted by a knock on her front door. She ran across the living room and almost ripped the door from its hinges.

Martin knew that by the tone of his partner's voice she wasn't on detective mode, she had her hair unusually out of place even for someone who rarely gave a Sh.t about those things, her hands were bloody and her slim frame was shaking as if she was a leaf whisked by the wind.

Jesse, are you OK? he asked her grabbing her wrists just so she wouldn't smudge anything around them. She still had that look in her eyes, the look of someone remembering something or someone she didn't want to remember.

His partner wasn't someone that got scared by much, she tackled men three times bigger than her without blinking, she jumped buildings more than four floors  high without a second thought so that she would catch a suspect, seeing her like this was evidence enough that this was personal and dangerous for Jesse.

Take a seat Jesse, you need to sit and tell me what happened. he said dragging her toward the kitchen stools.

While Martin talked with his partner, Billar analysed the crime scene and Dr.Eve took her time with the victim's body. The CSU team collected the evidence around the room as well as any evidence that could be relevant for the case in and outside Jesse's house. Knowing that the suspect  jumped through a window on the living room, Martin and Billar interrogated every neighbour that could've possibly witness any kind of strange activity that may be happening at the time.

When Jesse entered the Station everyone looked at her with a mixture of suspicion and support of a fellow police officer. Even if Jesse was a suspect in the murder of Brian Voltori, her one night dance partner, people knew that she wasn't the murderer, she was too much of a cop to do it.

She was led to the interrogation room to talk with Martin and Billar about what had happened, later she stripped her clothes to be bagged as evidence on the case. Knowing that she couldn't go home since it became a crime scene she rented a room on a motel across the Station with a officer guarding her.

Voltori's case was noted as unrelated to the coupling murderer's cases seeing that the MO wasn't a match Martin and Billar gave the case to Rodriguez and Romero, two other detectives of the Homicide Division.

Chief of Unit Lte.Richard Hammond gave Harris her vacation time while she couldn't be active in any case of LAPD, she huffed annoyed that she wouldn't be able to do what she loved to do, catch bad guys, the real motive of her huffing was the fact that she had to live on house arrest, even if briefly, with her mother, since her sister has been having marital problems, Cintya, Mark and Leslie were sharing the guest house while Jesse made home of the guest room of the main house.

The nagging and oh so normal bickering between her mother and herself would be counted as the low time of the day, while playing with her nephew and niece were her high time of the day.

................................

Dr.Eve discovered that Voltori was slipped a smile by someone smaller and weaker then him, it was found bruising on his armpits, his feet shown signs of dragging, marks on the neck area were recognised has hesitation marks, it was found a tranquilizing substance on his blood tests and after taking his clothes off Eve could see that the victim was tortured. His torso had cuts all over it, some deeper than others, she found traces of alcohol, salt and vinegar inside some of this wounds, his hands were pummelled on the wrist area and the fingertips burned with what appeared to be cigarette burns, his legs showed evidence of electrical torture and it seemed that he had been walking on hot coal, his face was the only part of his body that didn't show any signs of torture or any kind of violence. This was evidence of a personal crime, full of anger and contempt toward the victim, a matter of revenge.

Eve was one of the people of the prescient that didn’t believe that Jesse could be the killer, all evidence pointed to someone that was female or male, under 5”8 tall and significantly lighter than the victim, with no knowledge about anatomy and possibly a delusional individual. The note on the pillow suggested an old acquaintance or Jesse’s old love gone wrong.

Eve saw how Jesse was dealing with what happened in her house, she was hysterical, a kind of controlled hysteria was written all over her face, the fidgeting hands, the non-stop tapping of her feet and fingers on the bar of her kitchen. Jesse knew who the killer was, even if unconsciously, she knew the person behind the crime and she was terrified about it. The normally stoic detective was now displaying signs of a victim, a victim of violent behaviour directed to her by someone that she got away from, to face it again after years of some peace.

After the authopsy was done the only thing that Eve could do was wait for any other clue that could be found on the evidence found around the house bagged by CSU, that was currently being analysed by the morgue's lab. She only hopped that Rodriguez and Romero would find the killer before anyone else got hurt.

......................................

The mourning came, Jesse grunted against the lavander scented pillow, she could hear steps coming up the stairs, her mother called her to get some breakfast with her sister and the kids down on the kitchen, being the not so mourning person that she was Jesse remained in bed 20 minutes more before her niece and nephew came after her.

She saw them as her children, knowing that after losing a baby and almost her life when she was only 21 years old she lost the hope of having her own. A bad move on a stake out as a rooky took away that option on her life. She felt lucky that she survived that day, that she wasn't one of the 14 victims of the crossed fire between PD and the Moretti family, her partner at the time wasn't so lucky, he saved her when he jumped to cover her when a mob guy played with his new machine gun. Det.Nelson from Narcotics lost his life that day leaving wife and daughter alone to manage his lost.

It took her 3 years and lots of encounters with drugs, alcohol and not so law respecting individuals to get back on track. Sophia Klein-Shmith was one of those people, a weapons dealer and liason between Russia and America. At the beginning drugged up Jesse didn't see much of outlawed activity, she was high and not so dry, she fooled around with Sophia at night and worked on the streets by day. After almost overdosing one night, she decided to change. The problem was that even if Sophia was out of the country at the time, her friends and employees were close by. Being the new cop she decided to give an anonymous tip on the weapons delivery that was about to happen on the sea front out of LAPD's jurisdiction. The Feds came out on fire taking out the goons and seized the weapons found as evidence, from then on Sophia Klein-Shmith was wanted by the authorities of LA and USA. Since then Sophia became obsessed with finding Jesse or that was what Jesse thought.

sooo, comment, vote, :) it will get more interresting from here i swear on my tipping fingers :)
