Broken

his eyes slowly opened and looked around . Everything was normal and quite. He sat up from the bed and looked out the window. Lucas isn't here. He looked down and sighs. " I made a huge fool of myself......no wonder he left......" he thought for a while.he checked the time. 7:00 am. How long has he been alseep. How long has it been to try and forget everything "Gotta get going......" He gets off his bed and went to go get dressed. He put on a comfy shirt and some shorts and puts on his socks. He grabbed his jacket and went down. His mom was making food but he didn't care. His mom called out to him but he grabbed his back pack and put on his shoes and left without a word.
He walked to the bus stop and waited away from the other kids. Ness was exhausted. Mentally that is. Probably emotionally as well. He looked up and hears Lucas voice a bit. The voice got closer and closer. Not wanting to deal with any of this. Even though he knew he had to. He quickly scoot away as possible. Lucas then tapped his shoulders and ness jumped a bit and looked at him nervously. "Ness!! Hey! How's it all going? Sorry I left yesturday. I had to go home as soon as possible. Julie told me she's gonna meet me at school today!! I had to get prepared- " Ness just looked away with emotionless eyes. He doesn't care. It hurts him. It still hurts. " I don't know why I came here....." he mumbled to himself. He stopped listening to Lucas rant about julie and just stood there. Thankfully the bus came. He sat in the middle area and looked at the window. Lucas sat next to him. "Hey ness" Ness turned his head. "What." Lucas scratches his head. "Will......are you sure you don't like Julie? Cause yesturday it seem to me that you cared. B-but I'm not su-" Lucas stopped noticing that Ness just faced the window. "O-oh okay. Uh........so is that a maybe?" He questioned. Ness sighs. "Lucas. If it makes you feel so much better. I don't like Julie." He said a bit annoyed. "So please. Stop asking me that every time you see me." Lucas was taken back bit. "Oh. I'm sorry. I-I didn't know I asked that much....." Lucas fiddles with his shirt. "I-it kinda sounds like your jealous. From what I can tell......" Ness was mad. He didn't want to hear anything from Lucas. He's not jealous. He's not even close. "Lucas. Do me a favor and shut the hell up. I don't want hear what you have to say anymore. If you want to talk, try not to talk about the one person your obsessed with." Lucas frowned. "Hey. I'm just saying. And I just wanted to check. Ya know to reassure my self that my friend doesn't like her." Ness glared at him. "Wow. What if I did like her? What are you gonna do?" Lucas was quiet for a moment. "Then......I would stops talking about her in front of you." Ness shook his head. "Ness?" Lucas grabbed his shoulder in concern. Ness didn't say anything. After a while the bus finally got to school. Ness quickly got out. He didn't wanna be here either. He wants to be at home. Where he can stay and just try to figure out what to do. He walked and passed julie and went around the corner. He went to his classroom. After three periods it was lunch. He got up from his desk and went to his usual spot. He sat there and waited for Ninten. "Hey Ness!" He said waving. Ness looked at him and waved back. "Hi" Ninten blinked and rushes to sit next to him. "What's up dude? " He said taking his lunch outta his bag. Ness shrugged. "Nothing much." Ninten smiled "it seems like something" he said taking a bite outta his sandwich. Ness didn't say anything but Ninten didn't mind it at all and keeps on eating. "Anyways, how is it between you and Lucas?" He said. ".......i....don't know" Ness said quietly. Ninten swallowed. "Aw. What happened dude. Did you guys fight again?" He said putting down his sandwich. Ness shuffled a bit hugging his knees more, memories about last night. That's when it hit him. His eyes widened. Ninten saw how tensed he looked and pats his back. "Hey Ness, is everything alright?" Asking gently. ".............Lucas" Ninten blinked. "What about him?" Feeling a bit confused but Ness sighed sadly. "Okay..a..so last night Lucas came to my room......we talked ......and he said he needed to tell me something. I agreed to listen.....I regret doing so." Ninten listened carefully. "....we talked and talked but he eventually told me. Saying he liked his best friend.......very much....I was happy hearing .....that..." Ness said feeling the tightness in his chest come back. Ninten smiled. "That's good to hear. I'm glad he liked you back." Ninten continued to eat his sandwich. " .......it turns out his best friend he was talking about.....wasn't me..." he said inhaling a bit. Ninten stopped eating and puts down his sandwich. " oh. I'm sorry Ness." Ness shrugged. " I guess over everything, I didnt have a chance..." He said sadly admitting. " That's a bit harsh don't you think. I mean saying his best friend was julie and not you." Ness put his head down not really realizing that. "...I haven't really thought about until you said it......" Ninten blinks and nervously rubs his back. "H-Hey buddy just forget I even said that. It doesn't matter anyways right?...." Ness got up. "It's fine.....Ima go to practice....." Ninten was confused. "Wait practice? You mean art right???" Ness shook his head. " I switched classes. Now I'm doing baseball....I got to go....I'll see you later...." he walked down the hill and headed to the boys locker room. Ninten waved goodbye.
