Chapter 2

I watched Larisa's face as she attempted to cover up her horror. It was after all Calvin a 12 year old boy against our best shooter that is also a fighter that has skills rivaling Clarissa's. Shyla is going to be angry but rules are rules, if he can prove himself by lasting on the out side against Victoria for 10 minutes he will be let back in. But if he fails, he will be exiled along with any who wish to go with him.

"It's an eat or be eaten world there is no room for snobbish idiots among our ranks"

I said lowly and with a powerful tone.

"Calvin will fight and if he wins will be let off with cleaning duty for a month."

I watched Calvin's face as well as the students around him and realized that none of the students were going to stand up or go down with him. His cockiness had vanished with the thought of having to use his nonexistent skills he was supposed to learn with Clarissa.

"That will be all"

I called as I sharply turned around and exited the dead classroom. I knew in a few minutes after I left the whispering would begin and the fear would spread.

Victoria POV

"Victoria"

I heard from the ground as I slowly rose from my chair. I scanned the horizon briefly for abominations before laying my shotgun across my seat and then peering down at Rei.

"Yes"

I said frowning with a grumble. The only reason she would need me is that we have an abomination break in or some other fight she wants me to be in.

" You are to fight a boy by trial of combat."

I looked into her eyes daring her to force me to look away. Then while looking at her I let my smirk grow into a smile.

"And why should I."

I said daringly and watched as Rei's composure slightly dropped and a slightly flustered look crossed her face. I knew I would do as she asked but I wanted her to truly ask me.

"I'm waiting."

I called down a harsh tone biting at her will to keep bugging me. She then cleared her throat and tried again, this time with a more pleading tone.

" Victoria, you know this is as low as I go, and only for you and Curt."

She said with a slight warning in her voice. I smiled slightly knowing I had gotten to her before briefly nodding and ignored performing the sign of respect. She knew I would never make that sign to her or anyone really I'm kind of one to not listen .

Rei POV

"Victoria is the hardest person to gain respect from. We have known each other since the beginning yet she shows no sign of slowing down on the sarcasm, smugness or anger. She literally made me beg to get her assistance with Calvin."

I grumbled to myself with a huff. With my mind all jumbled I decided to go to the 20 classroom building at the back of the school. That's where all knights and founder have their quarters along with any hunters. Hunters are vicious members here that prey on animals or people, no we don't eat the people but instead either kill the groups that act as greenies, fundies or just cults in general. They also find and help LaMOE's otherwise known as last man on earth individuals, they basically think they are all alone and or the last person alive. As well as RC's or just smaller groups like us that we can connect with and gain trading or an alliance.
