No no no no no no no no no no no NO!
Draco ran down the stairs, sometimes jumping an entire flight and landing harshly down, hurrying to the bottom floor; it felt like hours before he finally came to the end. Draco looked around, dust hung thickly in the air, the spells were in full swing around here, the flashes of light clashing in a wild display.
"Oi!"
Draco spun on his heels, his heart skipping a beat when he caught sight of Marie. Her pink hair was a welcoming sight as he ran towards her, he was only a few steps in front of her when he noticed her wand pointing at the air, he followed the wand, a huge grin appearing on his face.
Marie had performed a spell and somehow managed to catch Angelina before she hit the ground.
"Oh, you bloody brilliant witch," Draco said, grinning over at Marie as she smirked.
"Remember that next time you want to insult me," Marie winked.
Marie flicked her wand when Draco was underneath Angelina, she fell into his arms, her head lulling to the side while Draco re-positioned her in his arms. "We need to move, let's bring her into the Great Hall where all the other injured people are," Marie suggested.
"Is she alright? I only saw her falling," Draco asked as they walked quickly to the Great Hall.
"Yeah, I caught her just in time. She's just unconscious," Marie smiled.
Draco looked down at the girl in his arms, smiling slightly as her head bobbed slightly, "what was happening anyway?" Marie asked, hurrying to keep pace with Draco as they entered the crowded hall, many injured sat along tables, a row with white sheets lined the middle of the hall.
"We were running from Thorinn Rowle, and we came to the stairs and he tried to toss Angelina over esentially," Draco explained quickly, he couldn't help but notice the stares he was receiving as they found a place for Angelina to be laid down.
"I'll go get someone," Marie said before hurrying off before Draco could respond.
Draco looked around, the stares he met were merely confusion and then indifference, Draco shifted Angelina around so that her head was resting on his lap. He leaned forward, resting his forehead on hers, sighing deeply-attempting to stop shaking.
"I'm sorry, Ange....I never wanted you to be a part of this, I never wanted to see you get hurt....." Draco whispered for no reason in particular, "I...I messed up. I use to think that if I pretended not to fancy you that would keep you safe. Because I knew, I just knew....that the second there was a hint that I fancied you, you would be dead," Draco inhaled deeply, his hand reaching out for hers. "I've always fancied you, I wish this weren't happening...I wish that I didn't have to drag you through this. Sometimes I wonder what would've happened if I actually went with you to get help...but...I was too scared-"
"Ahem."
Draco bolted up right, meeting Marie's gaze as she tried to conceal a smirk, she handed over a bottle of blue fizzing liquid.
"Give this to her," Marie ordered.
Draco nodded, taking off the lid, the scent of blueberries wafting upwards as he tilted the bottle to Angelina's lips. "Did they say how long it would take to work?"
"A few minutes and she'll wake up," Marie took a spot on Angelina's other side, crossing her legs and looking down at Angelina. "Did you mean what you said? About being scared...."
Draco raised an eyebrow, nodding once, "I've thought about what could've been. But I can't think about the past, I have to focus on the present."
