I AM GOING TO TRY ANOTHER WRITING STYLE. p.s. To my dedication: you'll like this ;)

Train smoke was billowing over the crimson sides, rolling over the platform as I pulled my trunk along the floor. Summer went by just as I expected, Pansy stayed here in England and I left to the States and stayed with my aunt. It wasn't all bad I suppose, my aunt and I went hiking practically everyday-something Pansy hated. But I loved it so much, and thanks to that, I actually managed to lose weight. Or at least my aunt told me I did, even now I noticed a few students turn their head in my direction-their eyes would go huge when comprehension dawned on them.

So maybe she was right.

I hopped onto the train and headed for the nearest empty compartment, I wasn't going to let Pansy stop me from anything this year. We haven't talked all summer, I came home last night and she was already asleep. Hopefully she didn't get her claws in Draco.

When I'd made it to the Slytherin compartment, I frowned and stopped walking, inside a compartment on my left was Blaise, Crabbe, Goyle, Pansy.....and Draco....with his head on Pansy's lap. I felt my face heat up before running off, I wish I could unsee that!

I found a compartment with no one in it and sat on the bench, pushing the palms of my hands into my eyes, forcing the tears to stay put.

"Uhm....are you alright?"

I looked up, Theodore Knott was looking at me skeptically, I rubbed my hands on my jeans and nodded. "Yeah....fine," I gave a weak smile.

"Mind if I sit with you?" He josstled his trunk behind him, I waved my hand at the bench before me and took a shaky breath. "So........you look different..."

I smiled slightly, "thank you, I did a lot of hiking this summer."

"Well, it paid off," Theodore coughed awkwardly. "you uh...."

"We don't have to talk if that makes it easier for you," I offered.

"Erm...sorry, I'm just not used to you one-on-one, I'll go join the others then--"

"No you can stay, I just feel like you're forcing yourself." I didn't want him to leave, if he did I would just continue you to sob to myself.

Theodore nodded, "I realize that I don't know much about you...."

I shrugged, "well, my birthday is on Halloween, I like the outdoors and books, favorite color is mauve....what else is there to know?"

"Quidditch?"

"I don't follow internationally, just our house games," I pulled my legs underneath me, glancing out the window as we moved along the rails.

"Fair enough, still fancy Draco?"

"W-w-w-hat?!" I stuttered, well. That ends any possible lie I could come up with. Theodore gave me a knowing smirk.

"So it is true then, I just thought it was a joke," his grin was catlike as he looked me up and down, "honestly I think you have a shot."

"Didn't you see how cozy he looks with my sister?" I muttered, the scenery outside blurred as tears glossed over my eyes. "I've lost without really trying."

"But he hasn't seen you yet! Besides, you're the better choice in my opinion, you're an actual person. Not shallow."

A spark that fueled my need to defend my sister ignited but I didn't say anything to the comment, mainly because I knew it was true. I just didn't want to admit it. Until now.

"What do you mean the better choice?"

"You actually care about people," the Slytherin shrugged, "you're actually honest and aren't constantly trying to impress someone."
