Chapter 8

Ahhh sorry it's been so long I just got back from medical camp and have been too busy. But I'm back with a new chapter!! 
---Months later--
After I got lost in his eyes I somehow said yes to going out for coffee

Which led to a date.

Which led to hanging out. Certainly not at my place though

But for some reason I agreed to have him over

"So" Alex started "Grayson's coming over huh" she crossed her arms over her chest and leaned against the door

"Yeah but we're just friends"

After Alex found out about our date she moves on from Grayson

"Okay. Just be careful about dad"

I nodded as I braided my hair

"So in the meantime I'll be at the pool. Call me if you need anything"

"Okay I will" I walked out of the bathroom and plopped down onto my bed

•1 hour later•

The door bell rang at 11:30

I took a deep breath and opened the front door

Grayson was standing there in tan kaki pants and a button down shirt.

"Hey wanna come in?" I moved to the side to let him in

He looked around at the house before speaking "your house is nice"

I could tell he was nervous and didn't know what to say

I rolled my eyes "oh come on" I pulled on his hand and brought him into the basement where our tv is set up

"Wanna play video games?"

"Sure what games do you have?"

"Um we have all the just dance and Mario cart and some sports games but that's all"

"5 bucks I can beat you in just dance" he said with a smirk

Turns out he was right. He did beat me in just dance. He beat me by a lot.

"Here's you 5 dollars" I held out the money

He shrugged "nah keep it"

I smiled and put it back in my pocket.

"JULIET" I heard a familiar voice yell. My monster of a dad.

We've been playing for so long I forget what time it was

"Crap. You need to leave" I started pushing Grayson towards the other exit.

"Why what's wrong?"

"You just need to leave okay. Don't let anyone see you"

He stopped at the bottom of the stairs. "Juliet what's going on?"

"Just please go" I kissed his cheek and shut the door.

My father can't know another guy was at my house. He will beat me up.

But I also can't let Grayson know how dangerous my father is.

My phone buzzed

Grayson: Juliet what's going on?

I didn't respond

Grayson: Juliet please answer me

Me: everything's fine. It was just getting late. Don't worry about me I'm fine okay.

Grayson: okay. see you tomorrow?

Me: I can't

Me: sorry

I threw my phone on the couch and ran upstairs before he got even more mad
