dakota's p.o.v.

amanda has been here, living with us, for about 4 days. she's been sequestered. I've tried to get her out of the house. I've tried to get her to go to the café with me. she won't leave the house. my dad hasn't been home for 3 days. hell knows where he went. I'd love to keep it that way.

"amanda, do you want to come with me to the mall?" I questioned her.

" I need a new pair of jeans. we could get you something." I added.

she just shook her head and kept scrolling on her phone.

"you're going to have to get out sometime." I expressed.

she didn't respond and continued her previous actions.

I stood there and waited a few moments before I grabbed her phone and snatched it out of her grip.

"you're coming with me because firstly, dad doesn't know that you are here, and secondly, it's not safe if he decides to show up tonight and you be the only one here." I finished, her being slightly pissed at me.

"where is matt?" she yelled, while trying to get her phone out of my hands.

"he's spending the night with one of his friends tonight." I responded.

she growled and traveled to my room. moments later she came back out in a pair of jeans and sweater.

"atta' girl!" I shouted with a smirk.

she grunted and pushed past me and walked out of the door.

——

"see, was that so bad?" I asked.

"yes. I hate shopping with you. you always stop to look at the ugliest things." she grumbled.

"stop being so pissy." I said.

we we're currently sitting in the food court eating chickfila.

"when do you plan on going back home?" I questioned carefully.

"I dunno." she murmured.

I looked at my chicken nuggets and proceeded to think about something that would somehow cheer her up.

"you like panic at the disco, right?" I question.

"yeah." she replied, not looking up at me. she just kept looking at her empty fry box.

"what would you say if I told you that I could get us very good seats to the show in 2 weeks?" I asked, waiting for somewhat of a good reaction.

her eyes slowly lifted up and leveled with mine.

"are you serious?" she asked, with an unreadable expression on her face.

"yeah, pretty damn serious." I said, the end of my mouth curling into a smug.

"I would say..." she paused for a quick moment.

"hell freaking yeah" she yelled, smiling.

that definitely lifted her spirits.

-

we arrived home, and pulled into the dark driveway.

"is your dad home?" amanda asked.

"hell if I know." I said.

we climbed out of the vehicle and walked into the deserted house.

we continued down the hallway and went into my room. I turned the light on.

amanda's abusive dad was sitting on my bed. dirt was fresh under his nails, bags were puffed under his dark, evil eyes and his face was red. there was also a shiny, silver handgun in his palm.

he looked up and his eyes shrunk. he stood up and aimed the gun at amanda.

"no!" I screamed before running towards him, thinking I could grab the gun from him.

I was so stupid.

okay so there is a litter filler. SCHOOL IS OVER AND EXAMS ARE DONE! my lowest exam grade was a 84% so i am actually pretty satisfied. so here's an official summer update. there will be PLENTY of more to come! sorry for the cliffhanger. vote please!

ALSO before any petty brats call me out on it. I didn't say  "panic! at the disco" because it's not like someone emphasizes "panic" and no one says "panic exclamation mark at the disco" so yeah, sorry. my cousin called me out on it and I almost snapped her neck i was so pissed.

SORRY for any typos or grammar mistakes. it's pretty late and I'm watching my mom's favorite TV show with her so I'm distracted and tired. alright. thank you to those who read my stories. it makes me feel happy. thank you once again! an update
