Exam week.
Any pre-teen, or teenagers, personal heck.
“Julie! Oh, my gosh, do you have the notes for math? I completely lost them and I’m freaking out because I didn’t study and now I’m gonna fail and get into a bad collage and-“ Jamie stressed, her eyes slowly filling up with tears from lack of sleep.
“Shh, Jamie, it’s okay.” I cut her off, pulling her into a hug. She breathed heavily into the crook of my neck, slowly calming down. Eventually, she pulled back and swiped at her eyes.
“Okay. Okay, I’m okay. My god, this is only our second exam week, and I’m already thinking about collage! I must be going insane.” She gave a shaky laugh before pulling her thermal jacket tighter around her and walking away to my backpack to steal my math notes. She smiled and said hello to a freezing-looking James as she walked past him. He was shivering and clutching his thin wind breaker to his body as he walked over to where I was standing.
“Hey, Jules.” He hugged me, pulling me tight and stealing my body heat.
“C’mon, you’re freezing. Let’s go inside.” I urged as I pulled back from the hug. He shrugged, shivering, as he followed me to the cafeteria.
“Yes, honey.” He muttered, smirking a bit. I rolled my eyes at him and he laughed a bit, his jaw shaking from the cold. As we entered the cafeteria, he sat down in the first empty seat he saw, which luckily had another seat next to it. I plopped down and laid my booted feet in his lap.
“Y’know what would really warm me up?” He asked, a smile slowly rising on his face. I groaned, knowing what was coming.
“No, James. No PDA, and especially when it’s my first kiss!” He made a pouty face, making me giggle.
He’s so cute, even though I’m taller than he is now.
“Please? Please please please?” he begged, his puppy eyes coming out now.
“Not till I’m twelve.” I said stubbornly, crossing my arms across my chest. He looked at my chest and made a perverted face before looking me back in the eyes.
“Which is this Friday, December, the seventh. Hey, that’ll be my present to you! The gift of my lips.” He sang, all shivering gone from his body at this point. I gave him a look, flushing pink, and he laughed, making me laugh with him, and erasing any little bit of awkwardness that had appeared.
