"Daddy, you look so handsome!" Kiana said as she walked into my messy bedroom. I smiled a bit, but was still nervous. Would Julie like my tie? Would she like my shirt? The shirt bas dark purple, and I had on a purple and lilac striped tie. I hope her favorite color is still purple.
Jenna, Kiana's babysitter, walked into the bedroom. She smiled a bit at me before turning to Kiana.
"C'mon, sweetie, I've got the movie "Tangled" in for you. Do you like that movie?" Jenna asked Kiana as she gently ushered her out of my room. I'm pleased with Jenna so far; I'll certainly hire her again.
No more procrastinating. Julie is going to love your outfit, and she is going to fall in love with you all over again.
With this thought, I grabbed my jacket and walked out the door, kissing Kiana on the head before I left. She was sitting on our red loveseat, curled up in her favorite green blanket. The movie on our tiny 20-inch TV was just starting. Jenna was in the kitchen ordering cheese pizza for them both. She waved me goodbye as I walked past the small kitchen and out the door.
As I drove to Julies house, I began to freak myself out. What if she was standing me up? What if she didn't fall for me again? What if I had to pick up and move again because of her?
By the time I reached her small, one story house, I was on the verge of turning around and going to our apartment. The only thing that kept me from doing just that was seeing Julie's face.
When I arrived at her small house, I was surprised to see the door opened by Jamie. When she saw it was me, she gave me the dirtiest of looks, but kept silent. That was a first. I guess Julie told her to keep quiet.
"Hello James!" Julie was quickly jogging from her room off to the right.
She looked beautiful, of course. Deep purple skirt that reached to just above her knees, White V-neck tucked into the waistband, and white flats. Her short , blonde hair was curled, perfectly framing her round face.
Jamie snapped in front of my face, pulling me out of my trance.
"Stop staring." She snarled. I glanced over at her, smiled sheepishly, before turning back to Julie who was now standing at the scuffed front door, waiting for me. I followed her out, but quickly ran ahead to open the passenger door for her. Her cheeks flushed, making me smile.
"We match." I said as I climbed into the driver's seat. Looking at her skirt, then my shirt, she smiled huge. Those years of braces had paid off, as her teeth were still straight.
"I guess we do."
How could I have ever let this girl go?

The restaurant was nice. So nice, that I felt underdressed. When I expressed my concern to James, he just gently squeezed the hand he was holding and told me I look beautiful. That, of course, made me blush. Again.
The restaurant buzzer snapped me out of my thoughts, making James giggle a bit at my shocked expression. I playfully flicked him in the nose before walking back inside the lavishly decorated French restaurant.
It was amazing how quickly we felt at ease with each other. His gentle teasing made me feel like almost no time had passed since before the big breakup. I think I'm falling for him again.
"Here you are!" The waitress said as she set the scarily thick menus down at the candle lit two person table. I smiled as James pulled my seat out for me and sat down, breaking open the gigantic menu. What was inside scared me. It was all written in French, and the only French I remembered from my three years of taking it in high school was the word for snail. That one word showed up more than three times on the first page.
