Nathan Smith: NateWantsToBattle
I sat in the living room thinking. Stacey's been on her phone a lot, she'll take a call then leave. She's been talking to Evan a lot more, I'm getting a little uneasy. She's like she's always been but she's hiding something. I've been sitting here for about an hour or so just thinking, is she cheating on me? What did I do? I hear the front door open and keys hit a table. She flicked my head,
"Come here." I huffed and followed her into the kitchen. She looks at me,
"Nate-"
"Where have you been?"
"I was with Evan, but-"
"What were you doing?" She sighs,
"I can't tell you, but its not what you think."
"Oh really? What the hell is it!?" She jumps,
"Nate please, I would never do anything like that." I stare at her and the hurt turned to anger,
"Seriously!? After everything you think I'd have the guts to cheat on you?! Listen to yourslef Nathan!"
"Every time you take a call you leave right after, and you don't come back till late! What else am I suppose to think!?" She stood on the other side of the island with her arms crossed,
"If you'd listen, you'd know. I can show you the messages, its nothing like that. Look, I admit, I had a major crush on Evan before we met, but that's gone. He's helping me, Nate."
"And I can't help you?! Stacey, you're gone most of the day!" She grabbed a stack of papers and threw it at me making the papers fly. Tears were threatening to fall from her eyes,
"Do you call that cheating?"
"What is that?"
"Fucking read it Nathan! You wanna know so bad then fucking read it!" She walked toward the front door,
"Where are you going?!"
"Away from you." She walked out and slams the door shut. I lean against the counter and look down at the papers. I read the words,
Ive been waiting all day for you to call me baby, lets get up, legs get on it dont you leave me brokenhearted tonight. Honest baby I'll do, anything you want to. So, can we finish what we started don't you leave me brokenhearted tonight.
Its a song. I sighed instantly feeling guilty. I went outside and see she was in her car. I went over and open the door. Her eyes were blood shot, her face was tear stained, her hair was in different places, and her head was hung.
"Baby, I'm so sorry." She looks at me and wiped her face,
"I was writing it for our wedding night. Evan was helping me come up with other lyrics for it." I sighed feeling like a major dick. I pulled on her hand making her get out of the car,
"I'm so so so sorry. I panicked." She nods,
"I know. I would of done the same thing." I held her closely against me,
"Can I read the rest of it?"
"No." I huff and she giggled,
"Why not?"
"I said no." I half smiled making her giggle. We went back inside and sat on the couch. She was playing with my phone and it went off,
"Why is Morgan texting you?" I shrugged,
"I don't know." I take my phone from her and deleted the message. We sat there for a while until I hear soft breathing. I carefully pick her up and take her upstairs. I lay behind her pulling her close to me and she turns to face then cuddled into my chest. After a few minutes of laying there I eventually fell asleep next to the woman I was marring in lest then a week.
