Chapter Six - The Maury Show
Harry looked around. He was standing backstage of what looked like a television studio. The rest of his friends were no where to be seen. This was odd. Normally when they stepped into a new show, they were all still together. Everything was back to how it was in the real world. In other words, he wasn't in a cartoon anymore. He could hear the sounds of a crowd applauding and booing. The booing part was strange, he thought. As the sound of it got louder and louder someone walked up to him.
"You're on." He gestured for him to walk out.
Harry gave him a confused look. "What's this for?"
"You're on now!" The man replied more urgently.
He walked out, not having any idea what to expect.
Right before he made his entrance, he heard someone announce, "and here's Harry." As he entered the stage, he was met with even louder booing from the studio audience. Many people were giving him dirty looks and giving him a thumbs down. He was totally confused. He noticed there was a man on stage who got up to meet him and a large black woman sitting in a chair who was also giving him a death glare. The man who got up to shake his hand looked so familiar, but he just couldn't place who he was.
"Nice to meet you Harry." He said as he shook his hand. Normally Harry would be polite and respond but he was too preoccupied with everything else to.
They walked over to sit down. Right before Harry took a seat next to the woman, she got up and threw his chair across the stage. Rude, he thought as he walked over to grab it. Why did it seem like everyone here hated his guts? He shook his head in confusion as he pulled his chair back, although he kept his distance from the angry lady.
Harry looked into the booing audience and noticed three familiar faces that were just as confused as his. Louis, Niall, and Liam were all seated in the middle of the back row. They all waved to him and shrugged as to show they were just as confused to what was happening as well. Wait, where was Zayn? Everything about this was utterly strange.
"So Harry, Shaquita here thinks you're cheating on her." The man said, who Harry was assuming was the host.
Shaquita butted in right away. "Oh Maury, I know he's cheating on me!" Her loud voice echoed through the room, making Harry almost want to cover his ears.
Wait, she called him Maury. Finally it clicked with him. He has heard of Maury. He vaguely remembered this show being on in the background of their bus or hotel room occasionally. This was the show where people got DNA tests to find out who was the father, or did lie detector tests to see if their significant other was cheating. He always thought of this show as trash and never paid much attention to it. Now he really knew why.
"Shaquita claims, that she has found open condom wrappers in your wallet." Maury said looking at Harry.
He shook his head. "Listen I don't even know what you're talking about. I've never met this woman before." The crowd loudly booed at his response.
"Whatdoya mean ya don't know. I've found used condoms, other women's underwear, and his shirts with lipstick on da collar." She yelled in her trashy ghetto voice. "How you gunna deny that huh?!" At this point she had got up and was literally yelling in Harry's face.
He felt extremely uncomfortable being screamed at by someone he didn't even know. "What cha gotta say about that foo?" She spat in his face.
"Now listen." Maury announced, temporarily saving Harry from being yelled at. "Harry also denies that he is the father of Shaquita's three month old daughter, Tyla." The crowd booed yet again.
