-Matt's POV-
My hair fell into my eyes, but I let it go. I was too focused on my game to brush it away. I was just about to beat Beyond in our video game tournament. He and I had a bet. Whoever won this tournament got two hundred and forty dollars (and bragging rights, of course). I HAD to win! I reached the end of the level just seconds before he did. I had won. Again.
"I won," I told Beyond. "Time to pay up, tough guy."
He just glared at me. "Not fair. You cheated. I saw you."
"I did NOT!" I yelled, now angry. "Now pay up or get out!"
"Fine then," he said, smirking. He dropped his controller on the floor, stood up, and walked to the door. Just before opening it he turned back around. "I just wanted to say, great way to treat your only friend. You know, since Mello's gone and all."
"Don't you DARE mention Mello to me, bitch! Get out of my house!" I shouted, but Beyond didn't hear me anyway. He had already left. I was now alone.
Alone. That's how I had felt ever since Mello had left. He had no idea how much he had hurt me. Part of me wanted to just forget about him, to never think about him again. But I knew I couldn't do that. I loved Mello, and I thought about him every day. His sparkly blue eyes, that long blonde hair that made him look like a girl. He was gorgeous, and I loved him with all my heart. I had never told Mello that I was bi, for fear of him abandoning me. Not like that mattered anymore. He had ditched me anyway, without so much as a goodbye. Stupid Mello. Always trying to be in control. He could never just relax and enjoy the moment. I sighed as I lit a cigarette and stuck it in my mouth. Another bad habit I had picked up since Mello left. He would have flipped out on me for smoking, rambling on and on about how it would kill me. But I didn't care. I wanted to die anyway. Hell, without Mello, I was already as good as dead.
