Have you ever heard about Gamou Hiroshi? He started drawing mangas in 1993 but due to his mediocre drawing skills he wasn't able to reach fame for 9 years. Although his stories were quite good. So he took one of his scenarios and showed it to an editor. The editor told him that the story was indeed excellent but the drawings were too bad to go along. But the editor found the story so good that instead of putting the whole manga in the trash he told him to work with Takeshi Obata, a mangaka with wonderful drawing skills but "meh" scenarios.
