Chapter One: When I Met Luke Elric

At the age of fourteen, me and my family are moving to the country, because of my Mom's decreasing health. As the car moves on an almost rocky road, and ever so nearer to our new home. "Rose, we're almost there to our new home. Are you excited to live in the country side?" my Dad said while driving. You know, I like living in the city, because my only friends are there and I have no other friends anywhere in the world. So, what should I do? I don't know what to do? "Rose? Is there something wrong, dear?" Mom said from the front of the car. I shook off my sad expression and with a smile, I said "Yeah! I so excited..." "Great! Well, then we're almost there." Dad said.

Soon after, the car stopped and Mom said "Were here! Our new home!" Then Mom and Dad both got out of the car and I got out soon after. "Now let's get inside. We got lots of unpacking to do." Dad said, then they both went inside and the movers went in along with our stuff. I was getting bored. "Hey, Mom! I'm going out for a bit, kay?" I yelled for Mom to hear me better. "Okay sweetie! Just don't go too far!" Sounds almost like a loud whisper but I heard it loud and clear. And I was on my way.

I walk along the road for a few minutes, and saw couple of houses with beautiful gardens covered in many and colorful flowers. I think living in the country side isn't so bad as I thought it would be. The fresh air, the cool breeze and the relaxing atmosphere beats the hustle and bustle of the city.

While I was walking along enjoying the country feel, when I heard someone yelled "Watch out!" So I turned around and saw a boy riding his bike straight at me. I was too late to move aside and before I new it, I was on the ground and in lots of pain. "Aw!!That hurt!!" I complained. I look over at whoever it was who owned that bike. "Hey, are you okay?" I said. The boy was rubbing his head in pain. He has this slightly dark brown hair and green eyes. "Yeah.. I'm okay. How about you?" he asked. "Yeah. I'm fine." I responded "Great!". After that, he got up, faced me and then offered his hand. "Here. Let me help you." He said. So, I took his hand and he help me up.

"There you go! Glad you okay. My name Luke Elric, What's yours?" The boy or should I say Luke asked. "I'm Rose, Rose Dragmire. Nice meeting you." I introduced myself. "So, I guess you're new here, aren't you?" Luke said. "Yeah? How do you? I didn't even tell you." I questioned. He gave me a smile and said "Easy, I just heard from my neighbor, Mr. Johnson, that a new family from the city is going to live at the house just down the road." Then he pointed at the direction where my house is. "I see... Then, could you show me around?" I asked. "Sure! This is for saying sorry for accidentally hitting you with my bike" He stated. I could still remember the pain.

So he got his bike up and started walking along side me. "So, where are we going, anyway?" I asked. "We're going to my house to drop of my bike." he replied. His house? After, I few minutes of walking, we arrived at his house. "Okay, we're here." He said and started to walk towards it. His house was unlike the other houses I saw earlier. It has flower bushes as fences and a tree with a birdhouse hanging of the branch and sunflowers stood taller than me. This isn't your average boy's house like in the city. "Hey, don't just stand there, come here!" He snapped me out of my daze and I noticed he waving his arm in the air. "Sorry!" I said, then, I ran towards him. "What's up? What happened to you back there?" Luke asked. "Well... I was just amazed on how beautiful your home is!" I said. "Thanks for the compliment! My Mom designed this garden and I've been taking care ever since." He stated. "Well, then! I should put my bike away inside now. You should come inside too." So with that he went inside and I follow him after. I looked inside and saw a beautiful living room as beautiful as the garden. "Hey, Dad! I'm back!" He yelled.

I looked around once more and now saw a man about in s thirty's; reading a newspaper on the coached. I think his Luke's Dad. "Hey, Luke! Back so soon? Did you see our new neighbors?" He asked. "Yeah! I kinda 'Bumped' into one of them earlier." He emphasize the word 'Bumped.' "Oh! I see you brought a friend along." He stated and looked at me. "Oh! let me introduced you to Rose, she and her family just move into the house down the road." He introduced me. "Hello, Nice meeting you, sir." I greeted. He came over to us and said. "Please, call Mr. Elric." Then, I nodded. "Hey Dad.. I'm going to show Rose around town, so I would be back until 5-6 pm today, kay?" Luke asked. "Sure." He said. After that, we're gone to explore.

We spend the whole day together. There so much we've done, all in a day. I really had fun, more than I ever did in the city. The few hours I had in this tiny town is really a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I'll treasure this for the rest of my life.

After that wonderful day comes to an end, we started heading home. As we walked along the road when I heard Luke said "Rose! Look!" He pointed at the orange sunset on the horizon just between the two mountains. "Wow!! It's.. It's Beautiful! I never seen anything like this before! Wow!" I was amazed. "Yeah, the sunsets here are the prettiest I ever seen in my life" He stated. After the sunsets, we walk to my house.

We arrived; it seems that the movers are done and left already. "So, I should be going now. See ya!!" He said and was about to leave when I said. "Wait!" He turned around. "What?" " I-I wanted to say thank you for everything that happened today. I really have fun." I was a bit too nervous. "Ha.. Your welcome. Besides, that's what friends are for." He said. "Well, It's getting late, I should be getting back now or my dad will start to worry. See ya tomorrow!" After that, he was heading home. As his disappearing figure went away, I went inside.

"Hi Mom, hi Dad! I'm home!" I said. "Where were you? I was worried!" Mom was concerned. "Well, I was with my friend, Luke Elric." I explained. "Oh! You made a friend already?" Dad was glaring at me in disbelief. Before I was about to said something, I gave out a yawn. "Awww~~" "You must be tired. Go to bed now and you can tell us about it tomorrow." Mom said and pointed upstairs to where my room.

So I went upstairs went to the second room to the right of the hallway and went inside. I saw that my bed, my stuff are already placed. I went under the bed sheets and started dozed off. My last thought were. "What will we do tomorrow?" Then I started going to sleep.
