I stomped around the room, thinking about what Isabella had said.
I threw a pair of socks, that had somehow ended up on the chandelier, into a drawer. I slammed it shut, only to have to open it again when I found a second pair.
It was hard to admit, but Isabella was right. My room was a mess. Clothes, pens, books and other random household objects lay scattered around on the floor, on my bead and on any possible surface.
I picked up a spoon, frowned at it, then tossed it onto the pile of objects that deffinately did not belong in my room.
Behind me, Raven cleared her throat.
She'd been abnormally quiet for the last half our. Once she'd left to do something, but had returned shortly afterwards. I had the creeping suspicion that she was planning something.
"Elle," she said, and her tone left no doubt she was up to something, "I've been thinking. It's been a long time since you've been out. Maybe it's time we do something"
"Why would I want to go out? All that's out there is humans, werewolves and pollution."
"Come on Elle! Why are you so negative about everything that doesn't have something to do with necromancers? You're sisters and tutors don't like me because I'm not a necro ghost, you're practically afraid of going outside and all you're taught in your classes is how to hate other species! It's like you're being brainwashed, the only sane on here is Chloe. At leas she goes out sometimes."
"And is looked down on for doing so." I said rolling my eyes. My comment awakened Ravens suspicious streak.
"Why is that, I wonder? It's as if they want to raise you in isolation."
Oh no! If I don't stop her soon, nothing will stop her !
"You know what, I changed my mind. I think it's a great idea, it's time I get out, get some fresh air. Where were you thinking of going?"
Completely sidetracked, Raven gave me a sly look, "I don't know. I was thinking maybe ...a human club... "She said innocently.
"Absolutely not! It would be bad enough going to a necromancer club, but a human club!"
"And here you were saying that it was a good idea to go out for a while."
"Going out is one thing, going to a human club is quite an other!"
"Come on," she wheedled, "it would be so much fun! No one but you would be able to see me, and I could spy on people and tell you if they're planning something. It wouldn't be dangerous at all."
I hesitated and she pounced on her opportunity, "Come on please! I'm sure you're parents won't mind, they probably won't even find out! And if they do, so what? It's not like they'll do anything about it."
"I don't know. What if Isabella finds out? She won't let me hear the end of it."
"But she won't find out. She'll be too busy doing her makeup or something."
"What if Kara finds out and tattles to her?"
"She won't! I asked Xenia to cover for you, she'll say you're over at her place."
I considered it. It might work. Seeing as Xenia was 21 and so had a house of her own right across the street, nobody would notice, and if Isabella asked to come over, Xenia would doubtlessly say no. She could hardly stand her.
"Xenia even agreed to let us use her stuff to get ready. She says it's about time you got out."
I raised my eyebrow, "Did you tell her we're going to a human club?"
"Is it a yes then?"
"Answer the question!"
"It might have slipped my mind, so, are we going?" she asked eagerly.
"Fine, but if we get found out, I reserve the right to blame you."
She squealed and jumped up and down, which made her image look like the rippling surface of a lake.
"Oh thank you, you're the best!"
"I'm going to regret this," I said with a certainty, that should have warned me not to go, but I was too busy grumbling to myself about how I shouldn't let Raven talk me into things so easily.
