The stars lit up the clear night sky with a small moon glowing above them as they climbed up the hill through the forest. As they climbed higher Elena lost her grip of the loose soil beneath her feet and slid down to the ground, Isaac spun around and reached out for her, taking her hand in his he stopped her from sliding anymore. Their eyes locked on one another, her chocolate brown eyes and his piercing blue. She couldn't stop staring into his piercing blue eyes, she'd never seen eyes like it before. They were a deep blue that grabbed her attention making her not want to look away. Noticing that she was staring into his eyes he closed his eyes for a moment and turned his head away from her. He pulled her back up to her feet, turning his body away from her he kept hold of her hand as they climbed up the hill together.

As they reached the top of the hill Elena leaned over and placed her hands on her lap as she caught her breath once more. Isaac bent over with her placing his hand on the small of her back, she looked up from the floor and turned her head towards him with their eyes locking on one another's once more. "You okay?" He asked her breaking the silence.

"Yeah," she breathed, "I'm fine, I just need to catch my breath, I haven't climbed anything like this before."

"You should've said," he said to her, "I wouldn't have made you climb this high, I would've stopped back there and-"

"It's okay," she interrupted, "You don't have to worry about me, I'm a big girl," she smiled, "I can handle things."

"I know," he nodded.

"What do you mean that you know?" She asked him with a hooked eyebrow.

"The way that you handled me the other day with my rudeness," he told her, "Nobody else has stood up to me like that, especially when they knew what I was and what I could do. You don't care whether I'm this thing and that I could easily hurt you, you stood up to me and that's what I meant when you said that you could handle things."

"Oh," she nodded with realisation, "For a moment there I thought you were gonna say because you've seen me handle myself around, like you were following me or something."

"No," he frowned and spoke quickly, "Of course not, I would never follow you around, that would be creepy."

She turned and looked at him, opening her mouth with a smile on her face, "You've been following me around," she asked him, "Haven't you?"

"No," he lied, "I wouldn't do that, why would I do that, that's just creepy and I'm not creepy."

"But hiding behind a tree and looking at me through my window isn't creepy at all," she said sarcastically with the roll of her eyes.

"Fine, I admit that was kinder creepy," he admitted.

"Kinder creepy?" She raised her eyebrow, "If you hadn't had been locked away by your parents for the past two years then I would be totally creeped out by it, and because you haven't had contact with other people for the past two years, I'll give you leeway."

"You see," he pointed out, "That's what I'm talking about, most people would've just ran away and called me a freak, you on the other hand, you haven't and that's what intrigues me about you."

"I intrigue you?" She smiled, "Why is that? Other than the whole thing about me being slightly cool with the whole fact that you're a werewolf."

"Well, there's that," he nodded, "But there are other things. Like you're not like anybody else in this town, you don't gossip, you don't do things like the rest of them, you're smart and attractive at the same time, which is very rare in this town and to top it all off, you're not swooning over Damon for crying out that, why don't you swoon over him?"
