Chapter 3 • The Breakdown

You come to school early, and see Dino at his table. There's no one left besides yourself and him. You decided to pull your chair close to him and sits there.

You : Are you okay?

Dino didn't say a word.

But you smells something funny. Kinda smells like tobacco.

Dino put his head on his table, facing away from you.

Why did he do this to me?, you wondered.

Dino : You don't want to be my friend anymore?

You startled. He finally speaks to you.

You : What do you mean?

Dino : Well you have Joshua.

You : Are you jealous with me, befriending Joshua?

You give him a small laugh. Aish this kid. He took his head up and turn facing you. His face is swelled a little.

Dino : That's not what I meant.

You : Then, what? Oh my God, Dino. Your face...

There's 3 seconds of silence before he finally say some words.

Dino : Nevermind.

Really this kid??? He's like a girl having PMS, like unsetting mood swings and stuff. He'll be like (ㆁωㆁ) and then (ー_ー) 0.02 seconds after.

You : Dino...

Dino : ...What.

You : Do you smoke? Because my nose can't stop picking up this tobbaco-like smell when I'm close to you.

Dino : So you're saying I'm smoking now, huh?

You : I'm just asking.

You took your chair back to your table. You saw a piece of paper sticked on your table.

Meet me at the rooftop after school. -Joshua.

Even Joshua only sits next to you but he just looked at you and smile.

The teacher come in with a girl next to her.

Teacher : We have another new student. Please, introduce yourself.

The girl introduced herself. Her name is Taeyeon.

(Taeyeon's POV)

I introduced myself to my new classmates and I spotted someone who look so cute. Is he going to be my first love? He's looking straight into my eyes. I'm startled. Is this what people call love at first sight? I don't even know anymore. I'm dumbfounded.

Then teacher told me to sit next to him. What a fine piece of specimen.

But he keeps looking at the girl next to him. She's his girlfriend, maybe?

{Time skip}

You arrived at the rooftop. You saw Joshua standing at the edge of the rooftop. Enjoying the view, maybe.

You : Joshua!

Joshua turned around, facing you.

Joshua : Oh hey!

He walks towards you.

You : Umm... So... Why did you call me to get here?

Joshua : Oh hahaha... I'm kinda feel like I need to tell you this.. Before it's too late.

There's a moment of silence.

You : So? What you do you want to tell me?

Joshua : Look Y/N.. I...

Joshua rub his neck, showing he's a little scared.

Joshua : I really...

You : You what, Joshua?

Joshua : I love you.

Then Joshua took drastic measures. He put his lips on yours. Leaving you shocked and frozen (like in the Korean dramas). Your heart feels like it's going to explode.

(Dino's POV)

I walked up on the stairs to the rooftop. When I reached at the rooftop, I saw Joshua is kissing Y/N. I can't helped it but I cried, hiding behind the door. I'm too late. It's too late. She's someone's sweetheart now. I cried, cried, and cried. I cover up my face with my hands and cries in silence. This too much. It's unbearable.

(Reader's POV)

You let go your lips from his.

You : Oh Joshua... I-

He hugged you and whispers to you.

Joshua : I love you so much, it hurts. I can't let you be another guy's sweetheart. You're different. I can't hold my feelings to you anymore. Please.. Don't tell me you have another person in your heart.

You : But I don't have any feelings to you.

Joshua : Why? Did you have someone else in your heart?

You : Maybe. But look, Joshua, you deserves someone better than me, find someone who fits you so well. Religious, generous and kind like you. And I don't.

Joshua looked away, he can't make an eye contact to you. There's a moment of silence before he speak up.

He sighed.

Joshua : Well, I guess I can't force you to love me too. I'm sorry I just drastically kissed you just now.

You :  It's okay, consider it passed.

You give Joshua a free kiss on his cheek. He startled and blushed. He put his hand on his cheek.

You : Good luck on finding someone who fits for you.

You clump a fist and show it to him.

You : Fighting!

Joshua : Fighting!

He smiled.

Joshua : I guess I already have someone on my mind.

You : Who?

Joshua : The new girl. She always looked at me. I know that. When I look at her back, she turns away.

You : Boy, oh my God.

You want to go to the ladies room. When you walk pass men's, you heard someone is crying. A boy crying. You really want to go in there and check it out but it's men's room.
