The light one (discontinued)

Chapter 2

13 years later
Leyna watched from afar as thirteen year old baelfire ran into his cottage calling for his papa. The guards have decided to take a young girl called morrain to the blasted ogre wars.

"No! No you can't take her! She's my baby don't take my baby!" Morrains mother cried in protest as the girl was dragged by a guard.

"Nonsense. She's a fine strong girl. She'll make a fine soldier" the top guard said sitting on his horse.

" there's a mistake! She's turning fourteen. Only fourteen!" The father protested.

" by orders of the duke. Th ogre wars have taken their toll this season. More troops will turn the tide" the head guard said. Leyna sighed. This has been happening for a while now. Jennabeth who was sat on Leynas shoulder groaned. She didn't like it either.

Baelfire whispered something to rumple. he was talking about how he is almost at age to fight in the war. What he said made rumple hug him tighter.

"Take her" the head guard said then leaned over his horse a bit "she'll ride with me" . The other guards hoisted the girl up while her mother cried in protest.

" no you can't have her" the father said while the mother pulled out a knife and was just about to strike when she started choking. Leyna knew exactly who that is. Zoso also known as the dark one.

The mother and father fell to the floor gasping for breath. The man on the horse smirked.

"The dark one thinks i can" he said. That infuriated Leyna!

Leyna made a ball of light in her hand and threw it at zoso . Not knocking him of his horse but distracting him from killing the girls parents. Then jennabeth walked out of the forest in human form. Everybody gasped. They knew jennabeth as the spirit of the light one. more people knew her then Leyna.

" but the light one doesn't!" She screamed. But it was too late as the guards had trotted off while the women screamed and rumple hugged baelfire tight. Leyna turned on her heels and was about to walk off but stopped.

" maybe the light one can help us papa" She heard baelfire say

"There's no point baelfire.hardly anyone knows who the light one is" rumple said. If only he knew Leyna thought

She sighed and walked deep into the forest leaving jennabeth out on the field. She'll find her eventually, she always does.

She ended up in a clearing where light shone through the trees. Leyna watched as a red squirrel jumped tree to tree getting to its home. She smiled at that. when it suddenly shrivelled up and fell to the floor. My smile fell.

"There was no need for that" Leyna said and turned round to face zoso.

"Didn't I warn fourteen years ago to stay out of my way" he said and walked out into the clearing

"And I did that until you started helping the duke and his guards take innocent children away from their homes and to fight in the ogre wars" Leyna replied.

He sighed "I don't have a choice they have my dagger. Your lucky you can't be controlled" he said but then smirked. " but at least I can one day leave this life other than you who will always remain this. frozen, Never growing up, watching everyone you know and love grow old and die" after he said that all Leyna saw was red.
