Chapter 7 - The Blur Overtakes

Krona saw his brother tumble out of the train and hit the floor. When the two trains collided and exploded, the resulting force of it blew Zoin further along the ground. Starting to run, Krona had to dodge a piece of metal coming toward him. As well as the debris from the explosion, the robots around the station were now taking notice of the intruders.
"Hmph. I'm low on ammo," Espio growled. "Time to get in close."
While Espio charged the robots, Krona knelt beside Zoin and tried lifting him up. He got a grip under his brother's arm and managed to stand him up. With his brother leaning on him, Krona overbalanced a bit while getting up. Bringing his head up, he saw that robots were now surrounding him. Arm cannons held up. Clanking around to cover any open gaps. Slowly moving forward to trap him in.
Then, one by one, each robot stopped and fell over.
"Heeeey!" a child-like but deep voice called.
Espio finished his spin and snapped his head up. Krona followed his gaze to see a bee. A bee with a jacket and goggles. It seemed he and Espio knew each other, as the two seemed to be talking.
Krona walked slowly over, the weight of his brother affecting his balance. As he neared Espio, both he and the bee walked over and helped him, asking if his brother was alright.
A groan said he was.

Zoin woke with a groan to find himself being supported by two others. A bee flew into his line of sight and dropped down to his leg. He could feel the pain where it had been struck.
"That looks fine," the bee said. "Just needs a bit of bandaging and plenty of rest."
"Rest is something we can't do," Zoin said with a strained voice. "Our sister-"
"Can wait," Espio said. "There is no reason to push yourself when you are already hurt. We will rest, for now."
Not wanting to disagree, Zoin let the subject drop. All four of them made their way out of the station, and even hurt, Zoin couldn't hide his amazement.
The entire island looked like it was made out of marble. The sun reflected off walls and the floor, and it all looked as though it was twinkling. The dark, silky smooth blue was mixed with purples and reds. Everything also seemed to be built from it as well. Houses and gates and even something that looked like a tree.
The group left the station and through an alley. There, they turned into a hut that was also made of marble. Zoin was lain to rest on the bed made of marble.
"So, Charmy," Espio said. "What have you been doing up here?"
Charmy gave a guilty giggle. "I assume you know why I was sent here in the first place?"
"Vector had told me something about it, yes."
"Well, I've been good since. I have! But me and Mighty seem to have found leads on Eggman's base. I think Mighty's exploring now. He said something about computer rooms."
"And what were you meant to be doing?"
"Waiting for Sonic."
Zoin saw both Espio and Krona react to this news.
"Sonic's coming here?" Krona blurted out.
"We've overtaken Sonic?" Espio asked.
"Umm... Yeah. Knuckles reported something about a castle he saw Sonic heading to. There's no telling how long he spent there, or if he's even aware of this place."
"But you were still given the task to wait."
"Well... Yeah. I was waiting in that station's control room watching the cameras. Sonic wasn't that far behind you, actually."
"So he did find this place."
"Somehow, yeah."
"Wait. When you say 'Not far behind', do you mean we could have seen him?" Krona asked.
"Well, you swapped to a different track. He didn't. And he stopped at the station since he needed to make the long way round."
"So-"
An uproar of wind interrupted him. Krona ran to the entrance and ran outside. When he returned, he had a look of awe on his face.
"He's just overtaken us." This was said in a monotone voice, as though he couldn't believe something. "Sonic has just overtaken us."
"If that is the case, we need to move," Espio said.
"But... Zoin."
"I can move," Zoin said, recognising the affection which Krona had used. "It's just a bit... painful."
Zoin lifted himself up with minimal help, and walked to the entrance.
"Well, if you are going," Charmy said, "I wish you good luck, and I hope to see you again soon."
"You've got to stay?" Espio asked.
"Wait for more instructions."
"We will be seeing you, then."
Espio walked to Zoin, and beckoned to Krona. The three of them left the hut.
