~*Chapter Five*~

I woke up the next morning, with the sun shining through my window. I looked over at my alarm clock and saw that it was around 9:30 a.m. I stretched and rolled out of bed. I went to the bathroom and jumped in the shower, feeling relaxed and happy underneath the hot water. After 10 minutes of lathering and just sitting under the hot running water, I realized something that I'd forgotten.

Evan spent the night here last night.

I turned the water off, and stepped out of the shower, wrapping myself in a towel, and went to my room. I closed the door behind me, and went over to my bedroom window. From my bedroom, I had a clear view of the driveway and front yard. And in the driveway there was a car...Evan's car. I quickly made sure I was dry before putting on a bra and underwear, some dark jeans, and a yellow v-neck shirt. After making sure my hair was dry, I put it up in a high ponytail, and checked myself in the mirror.

Presentable.

I opened my bedroom door, and quietly made my way down the stairs. The couch was empty, and the blanket I lent Evan was folded up on the arm of the couch. The kitchen light was on, and I could here the coffee machine preparing to make the coffee. I could smell the coffee's aroma as I leaned against the doorway leading to the kitchen. Evan was going through the cabinets, probably looking for a coffee mug. I smiled, and took a seat on a stool near the island.

"Their in the the last one on the left." Evan whirled around and sighed in relief when he saw it was me.

"Thanks." He chuckled, and grabbed two mugs from the cabinet. He put one underneath the machine's spout and pressed the glowing blue button. As Evan made the coffee, I went to the fridge and grabbed the coffee cream, then the spices cabinet and grabbed the sugar.

"You're in a pretty good mood for someone who's supposed to have a major hangover." I said. Evan and I sat across from each other.

"Oh I have a hangover, trust me. The light still kinda hurts my eyes, and I still have a headache, but that's why I made coffee." He placed a cup of coffee in front of each of us. I got up and went to the medicine cabinet, grabbing the ibuprofen and handing him two along with a bottle of water. He thanked me, and I fixed my coffee, pouring a little bit of sugar and cream in it and stirred it before taking a sip.

"Thanks for letting me stay the night last night. My mom would have killed me if I came home drunk and beaten up last night."

"No problem." I said with a smile.

"And, I'm sorry for getting into that fight. I really, didn't mean to ruin your night. He just...I couldn't stand to here him say stuff like that about you. Especially, when none of it's true."

"It's ok. Actually, I'm the one who would be thanking you. You stepped in when the guy was messing with me, and you stood up for me. That means a lot, thanks Evan." Evan smiled.

"Anytime." We both continued to drink our coffee, as we talked about the party last night.

Turns out, when Evan left me, Liam found him and they started talking. Then, Liam convinced him to play a drinking game, which he obviously lost at considering he came back drunk off his ass. Then, when he went to grab us drinks after we danced, he saw Rick talking to some other guy, and that's when the fight happened. I told Evan about the game of Truth or Truth and how much bigger the house seemed from the outside. I got up from my seat, and took our empty mugs over to the sink, running them under water and washing them. Evan got up and leaned against the counter next to me.

"I remember what happened after the party last night." Evan said. I froze, afraid of what he'd say next. Would he flip, would he end our friendship? I shook the fear away, and put the dishes in the drainer, then dried my hands. "I remember what I did and said."
