1. Open up PicsArt. Add a photo on a white background. If it is not already black and white, change the filter to black and white. Click the check mark.

2. Go to the 'Draw' tab. This looks like a brush at the bottom of the screen.

3. Put the layer on 'Overlay'. Make sure to use a soft brush.

4. Draw with whatever color you want color on part of the picture.

5. Repeat by adding more colors. The colors should be similar and transition in hue based on the color wheel. They should appear to be blending into each other. This will give a gradient effect.
