Chapter Six» The Beefy Jerk

Skye's POV

Thalia got her bow and arrows and I got my...well, I depend on my powers. We got out of the cabin and saw the freaking Minotaur.

People, if you ever want to meet the Minotaur, please think about it for another year. I swear on the River Styx, he's ugly and scary and beefy. (Haha! Did you get that?! Beefy!)

Most of us got ready to attack, even if I'm trembling. Some ran away, locking themselves inside their shells.

Jason is there, fighting beside Percy and Frank. Thank the gods, he's okay. The girls are there too. Some other campers help and I think that we are too many to easily kill the monster. But it is stronger than how Percy described it. He told me that he killed it himself before and killed it again.

"Are you going to help?" Thalia asked, worry in her voice.

I scan the crowd and saw no Leo. "Yes, I will. But I'm going to find Leo first."

I ran to Cabin Nine without letting my sister cut me. I am worried and I'll help them. I promise, I will. But I need to make sure he's okay.

The door is open and a bunch of people are there too, ordering weapons and such. "Leo?! Are you there?" I yell. Nyssa approached me, sweaty and probably tired. She looks sick.

"Nyssa, oh my gods. Let me help you."

I was about to lead her to the infirmary outside, but she shushed me. "No, you're looking for Leo. He was going to your cabin when the Minotaur arrived. Help him."

I nod and sit her to a bunk. I sprinted to my cabin and think of where Leo could be. If he did head here, I would've seen him. So, he must be out here somewhere.

I looked for him behind my cabin and checked the crowd again. I was about to run to the crowd and search for him AGAIN, when somebody held my wrist and hugged me.

I push him away. "Where have you been?" I was worried and scared at the same time.

"I should be asking you the same thing!"

He was about to hug me again, when I scolded him. "No time for hugs right now. I'll hug you later. Let's go fight that schist of a Minotaur."

Leo smirked and backed away from me, setting his hands ablaze. "Let's do this!"

He shoots his fire to the Minotaur's face, since the monster was too busy shoving campers away from him. Arrows and swords hit him but even a drop of Igor got spilt on the ground.

I try to concentrate and feel the sky—my father's territory. I imagine thunder, lightning bolts, grey, clouds, rain.

Amazingly, the sky turned grey and I commanded thunder. Two lightning bolts draw the sky and stroke the monster, but it only made him unbalanced. But soon, he regained it and spotted me.

Leo glances at me and he nods. What that nod means, I don't know, but I think that it does mean something.

"SKYE BOLT! YOU ARE DEAD!" the Minotaur bellowed. I gulped in fright. But I will not look weak now.

"Then, come to me, bruh!" I yell back.

He steps forward, making the campers shriek and move away from his legs. He's not that tall, but he's not that small either. He might be twenty feet away, and because campers try to stab him all over, he is getting delayed, which helps me.

"Are you crazy?!" Leo exclaimed at me.

"Hey, you're the one who nodded! Besides, I'll test my powers. Just, back me up, okay?" I say, nervous.

He puts away the fire on his hands and held my arms. "You'll never have to ask twice or even once, love. Just make sure this will work."

The Minotaur is already ten to fifteen feet away and something unexpected happened.

Jason climbed his back, but halfway there, the monster threw Jason to a tree, not able to fly away.

"No!!!" I scream.

The Minotaur looked confused when I screamed so loud. He glanced at Jason and at me, then laughed. "Haha! Pity. I guess your brother lost his Superman flying ability, huh? Too bad, he's got to kiss that tree with his whole body."

He laughed even more. I get even more pissed when he unsheathed another sword, quickly wiggling his body to get the people away from his body.

He throws the sword to Jason, but when it was about to impale my brother, I raised my hand and deflected the shot. Pointing to the Minotaur, the sword came flying to him and to his throat, which only made him gag a bit.

Leo and I fist bumped and laugh. Childish, I know.

"You little witch! I'll tell that to my mistress!" Minotaur yelled in fury.

"Oh? So, you're going to cattletale now, big boy? Going to tell mommy your little boo-boo?" Leo mockingly cooed.

Everyone laughed. The Minotaur didn't seem happy about the childish teasing and bullying of us. Chiron even yelled, "That's a good one! Keep it up!" Mr. D? I guess he's drinking Diet Coke while watching us.

"Stop it!" the monster complained, stomping his foot/hoof/whatever to the ground. The big guy is having a tantrum!

He glared at me evilly. He glances at Jason then at me. He's not really telling me that he'll kill Jase if I don't stop. He's considering options.

He turned back at me and smiled. "See your brother in Elysium, Bolt." He ran to Jason. Everything is on slow-motion.

Piper and Thalia are screaming and running to Jason. The others are running after the Minotaur, trying to kill him before he reaches my brother. Leo is shooting fire and glancing at me, expecting me to do something before it's too late.

And I won't let that happen.

At my left, there is a bow and a single arrow. I gestured for it to come and it did, placing themselves in my hands. I positioned into a shooting stance and aimed at the spine of the monster. I commanded thunder and it stroke my arrow, not hurting me. The electricity was kept there and I finished it. I shot the Minotaur's spine.

I think it was just a wild guess—the monster having its weakness by his spine. Because as soon as the arrow hit the monster's spine with electrocution, he fell to the ground, wiggling like a worm that swam in a jar full of salt.

He was only 2 feet away from Jason, and thank the gods that he didn't even lay a finger on him when he fell.

So, Apollo and Artemis's blessings have been proven.

I'll never miss.
