Cas's POV
**Monday, his first day at Meadow Creek High**

Meg has really come through. She delivered a schedule so that I have most periods except Science and History with Sam, (I got Dean to send me Sam's schedule) and now there's no delaying it anymore. I'm about to attend Meadow Creek with my crush and his younger brother. Who I'm supposed to be in love with.

Focus, Cas. I tell myself, taking in my surroundings. I have to say, it's a lot bigger than my private school and I can hear students yelling from here. I fix my backpack over my shoulder and walk into what must be the office.

I get my locker and head off to English, my first period. The teacher, Ms. Harvelle, introduces me to the class and tells me to take an empty seat. Luckily, there's one right beside Sam, which I'm guessing is the result of being unpopular. I wouldn't really know, since my private school is relatively small, and though I always felt distant from the others, we were forced to sit together.

Anyway, Ms. Harvelle tells the class about some new boring project. "Your partners will be the person sitting next to you. No trading, switching or complaining. It's due on the 22nd. Get to work!" I turn to Sam, who looks absolutely miserable.

"Hey... Partner." I say, extending my hand, "I'm Cas, the new kid."

"Um.." Sam looks down at his paper. "I'm sure you're a really nice guy and all, but I prefer to work alone."

"Well... I'd like to work with you, if you don't mind." I grin at Sam, determined to win him over.

He looks up, shaking his head but smiling "alright, you convinced me. We can work together..."

We exchange numbers and talk until class ends. It's surprisingly easy to talk to Sam, and by the time the bell rings, we're laughing and joking around like best friends. Since I know we have the next class together, I offer to walk him there, but on the way, we run into some bullies that Dean was talking about.

One is small, round and is about as red as a tomato. The other is taller, built, and seems like he should have a pitchfork and horns because he seems like THE DEVIL. But neither scare me. I can take them. But Sam can't. "Oh great." He whispers to me, "it's Crowley and lucifer. You should go, okay? I'll catch up to you later."

They start to pick on Sam, calling him names and telling him he's worthless, but before they can get more than two sentences out of their mouths, I slam Lucifer into the wall, digging my elbow into his rib cage and probably bruising him. I kick Crowley where it hurts, and leave him squirming on the floor.

"If you ever pick on my boyfriend again," I whisper into Lucifer's ear, "I will find you. And I will shove a shotgun into your ass and fill you with salt. Got it?"

"Y-Yea, whatever." I can see Lucifer's trying to remain calm, but without Crowley as back up, even I can hear the fear in his voice. "Get out of my sight." I spit at him, pushing him down the hallway.

"There," I say, turning to Sam, "that oughta teach 'em."

"Cas, that's really nice of you, but, um, did you say 'If you ever pick on my boyfriend again...'?"

I pretend to blush. "Oh, I'm sorry. You probably don't feel the same way, and we've only just met, but I feel like I've known you forever..." I trail off, waiting to see if Sam will buy it.

He grabs my hand in his and smiles shyly. "Of course I do. No one has ever done anything like that for me before."

Man, I'm good. If only it worked on my boyfriend's older brother.
