*Patrick's POV*
Blair and Hockey.
The only two things that have been going on in my head recently. Since I drove Blair home, I haven't seen her once at any of the practices. Just Henry. It was a little discouraging but it let me focus on the thing I love most; Hockey.
I was absolutely dying to see her again though... Dying to hear her beautiful accent... Dying to just be in the presence of someone so...so perfect. It was insane how much I thought of her. It seemed like almost every hour of the day was consumed with her or hockey.
We were finally done with practice which meant my after-practice meeting was next. Part of me hopes that she'll be there, waiting. But sadly, she usually isn't.
"Patty Kane!" Shawzy yelled while running over to me.
"What do you want Shawzy?" I said while laughing as I sat in my cubby.
"Basically the whole team is going out and you are coming!" Andrew said while taking his skates off.
"Uh I don't know Shaw. Not really up for it tonight." I said while tugging my jersey off.
"Patrick you are coming. No if ands or buts!" Shaw said and I silently agreed. If there's one thing you should know, it's to never argue with Shaw because you will lose.
I quickly got ready and walked out of the locker room. I saw no sign of Henry so I pulled out my phone and sure enough he texted about not being able to stay and chat.
I groaned and started walking to the parking garage. She was absolutely driving me crazy. I needed to see her soon.
********
It was 10pm and Shawzy made sure I looked good for our outing tonight. I insisted on staying home, more like begged to stay home, but nothing worked.
"Pat I don't understand. You would have never said no to going out! What's gotten into you?" Andrew asked.
"It's just not my scene anymore. Who's going to be there?" I asked, trying to change the subject.
"Me, you, Breadman, Crow, and maybe John. I think Maddy too." Shaw said while fixing his hair.
"What about Chaunette? Where is she tonight?" I asked him.
"Studying for big test. She told me to go so I stop annoying her." He said while laughing. "But come on! Let's goooooo!!!" He yelled.
We walked out of my penthouse, making sure to lock the door behind me, and started our commute to the popular club downtown.
Thankfully, no one spotted us and we got into the club without a hassle. Admittedly I was hit with the smell of alcohol and felt the body heat from others. I wanted nothing more than to leave already.
"Hey there they are! Come Kaner!!" Shaw said while dragging me up to the VIP section.
On the way up we were bumped into by many drunk men and women, which made me want to leave even more.
The old Patrick would have loved this. He would have been absolutely shit faced, dancing on a table shirtless. The new Patrick wanted nothing to do with this. None of it.
As soon as we made it up to the VIP section, I went to sit down at one of the booths. I watched as my drunk friends danced around and had a good time. Part of me wished I was doing the same but I knew I couldn't risk anything with Henry. I wouldn't allow myself to embarrass such a well respected agent.
"Kane why so lonely?" Breadman asked while sitting down with me at the booth.
"Just not in the mood to party Bread." I said mumbling towards my intoxicated friend.
"Come on Kane. Don't be party pooper!" Bread yelled while going to get another drink.
I laughed it off and went back to scrolling through my phone. I was once again interrupted by none other than Jonathan, Maddy, and Andrew. Thankfully Captain and Maddy were still sober but I couldn't say the same about the mutt.
"Hey Patrick! Remember Henry's daughter? The hot one I told you about? She's here Kaner." Andrew said while slurring his words.
"Oh that's great Shaw." Blair's here?
"Hey Pat I think you should go talk to her! You need a lady friend so you aren't so moody all the time!" Maddy suggested with a smile.
I simply nodded my head and walked towards were Blair was sitting.
"WOO PATRICK GET! OW!" Shaw began to yell but before he could finish Maddy slapped him upside the head.
Thankfully Blair was too caught up in her phone to notice Shaw's comment. I pondered what I would say to her. I couldn't make a fool out of myself. Come on Patrick you can do this. I told myself as I wiped my sweaty hands onto my jeans. I sat in the seat next to her, hoping to get her attention.
"Hey Blair?!" I shouted over the loud music.
"Patrick! Hi!" She said while putting her phone down and smiling at me.
"What are you doing here alone?" I asked her while returning the smile.
"I'm DD for my friends tonight." She said while laughing.
"Oh! Hey I haven't seen you around at practice with your dad. Where you've been Ms. Assistant?" I said while smiling but admittedly frowned when she looked down.
"Um I've been busy but I've got to go. I'll see you around Patrick...." She said while grabbing her bag and phone while walking over to her friends.
God damn it Patrick! You screwed up! Way to go captain dumbass. Way to go.
I turned right when she looked my way and as soon as our eyes made contact, she looked away. What did I say that upset her so much? I didn't get it. I didn't get her.
Why do you have to be such a mystery Blair Montgomery?
