that was what you told me and then the next morning, you left without a word; even before the sun was fully risen up in the sky and i must stand alone again, be my own person. i went back to my usual boring life after, without you; without the dates; where my time was just solely spent with the case books. this went on for almost six months where people around me have assumed that we have broken up.

even so, i stayed strong and acted normal for i knew that you were doing good and would return someday.

like any other typical day, i was just stopping by subway to grab a quick dinner when today, i suddenly felt a force pulling me from the back. struggling to get off from his grip, i tried yanking his arm away from me and yelling at the top of my lungs, but to no avail.

i couldn't match his force and only then when he dragged me to an alleyway did he released his grip on me.

you removed the black mask which was covering your face and in a gentle voice, you cooed. as soon as i heard you, i fell into your embrace. tears started streaming down my cheeks uncontrollably and digging my nails into your back, i held on to you as tightly as possible.

"jin... i miss you. i miss you a lot", i cried and i could feel your fingertips wiping off those tears for me.

"don't cry princess, just hang in there. on the positive side, there's only two months left for me to get back to you forever. and besides, i got you this,"

reaching into your pocket, i then saw you fumbling through the compartment for a few seconds before finally, drawing out a red velvet box. presenting it in front of me, you inhaled a deep breath and exhaling it out shortly after, you held onto my shoulders and said to me earnestly,

"i figured out that you are the one for me and i would like to spend the rest of my life with you. so as a form of insurance, would you please first agree to marry me?"
