Puddles

The rhythm playing on the roof

The moisture of the air

The smell of the ground as it kissed the rain

Lingers everywhere

I love the rain and every aspect of her

I adore how she changes the mood

The air of melancholy

That fills every corner of my body

Pools of water, pools of mud

The roads all full of puddles

Watch how the children play with them

And dance on the remnants of the rain

The season of water, the season of rain

Brings forth both peace and disaster

As much as she can calm you down

She can also make everything drown

The clouds that roll in the skies

They rumble, grumble, and shoot forks of light

Roars of thunder that echoes across the land

And shakes the ground and all that stands

Floods that ravage throughout

Devours and kills everything in its path

This strength, this power

Makes everyone cower in fear

Death and disaster are brandished on her name

—I know, what a shame

Because I am aware of her beauty

Her gifts her kisses, her gentle touch

No matter how much she carries pain

I would always love the rain

Every aspect of this season

I will always adore and cherish.
