A limerick is a form of poetry which is sometimes obscene with humorous intent. It is a five-line poem and follows the AABBA pattern. The first, second and fifth lines are usually longer than the third and fourth.
The Challenge:
- Write a limerick
- Select one (1) and write a comical limerick based on the following:
(a) Horton Hear a Who! by Dr. Seuss,
(b) Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll,
(c) The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
(d) The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
- Rhyme: Follow the AABBA rhyme.
- Syllable: Use of odd syllabic pattern.
- Pun.
- Limit your poem in 30 words or less.
- English, Filipino, or TagLish are allowed.* * * * * * * * * * * * *
Madness
Alice went to the Mad Tea Party
To kill Time, and make The Hatter happy
They told some riddles,
Made some giggles,
Drank tea and ate sand which is tasty.
A/N: I bet people who have no idea about the history between Time and The Hatter wouldn't get this.
