Joining the team was the riskiest choice I ever had after training. It was about the time I met Steffani. She was really pretty. (Sebastian): what sector do you have? Mine is alpha 1.0 Steffani nodded excitedly. (Steffani): we're the only two, top of the class!! Aren't you excited!? I shrugged Casually. Though on the inside I was mentally screaming. This could be the WORST experience ever! And Steffani was so excited, I didn't want to make her nervous too.
The sector itself was this huge warehouse like building. We hadn't been as productive as right now! Very nervously, I opened the door shaking. Steff wrapped an arm around me, and i jumped! She began cracking up. (Steffani): you are nervous, aren't you? That's so adorable!! I remained silent. The door opened, and a boy around or age, maybe a little older stood there. And then the leader showed up. Something about this guy... (?): Congrats, recruits! Welcome to sector 1.0! I assume you two were the best of the best! The same goes for Samuel here. When Sam looked at me, a tiny flutter went off in my stomach. This guy looked kick-ass! I was staring, drifting off in thought before someone cleared their throat! I looked around, watching Steffani smile at me. (Samuel): are you okay, recruit? My face felt a little flush as I muttered out a "yes."
(?): Perhaps it'd be best if Samuel showed you around. When you are ready, I'll prepare you for your training (Sam): thank you, captain Peterson, sir! Before we left, Peterson stopped Sam and whispered something in his ear. Occasionally, he would stare at me, then back at steff at least three times! I felt kind of uncomfortable , no matter how attractive. . . What was I saying? Sam ran over and put an arm on my shoulder. (Sam): sorry about that, recruits! Mr. Peterson has some big news going on. Appearently he's having triplets. Must be something magical. Steffani gave us a big thumbs up, and that warm feeling came back again. (Sam): feeling a little warm there, recruit? I bit my lip and refused to mention anything else. This was gonna be awkward.
Now looking back, it was just a stupid crush. I was young and naive, and just like any other "student falls for teacher." Bullshit it was doomed from the start. I only had one regret, though. And that's me still feeling like we just met. Feeling captivated and loved! Feeling that warmth over and over again. Just... feeling at all. I DID love Sam. But now, I never want to feel love ever again.
