Jay

I couldn't help it. She was dead, wasnt she. Corin just sat, staring. His face slowly started to turn to me. Oh God.
He launched at me, firing his Grappling Hooks. One tore a scar in my side, and I grimaced. I ran at him, full force. I didn't want to hurt him, But I might have to. I'll have to stall until she wakes up. I conjure my Bow, best to refrain from stabbing him, and launch to arrows at his feet, eating away the wet wood. He plunges down, but grabs onto the ledge with his Grapples and launches back up. He plants a firm kick on my face, and it stung. A lot. I jumped Back. Maybe I would let him have this one. I was older, I was most likely stronger. So- Wait, a Fireball? That must be his Nen? I rushed him, ducking underneath. I grabbed one of his legs, pulling him down. He struggled, and fought. He threw a fireball down the side of the ship, but before it hit a wave of water came up, swallowed it, and the went back down in an arch. A Fucking fireball? I kept my hand clenched into the wood, and tried to pull Corin up. He wouldn't help. He has graping hooks. I whispered "Sorry", and before he heard dropped him in the water. I didn't see if he hung on. I scrambled up and laid on my back. Until Kaylie's face appeared above me. Her blood matted hair, soaked clothes, and hand bent at a backwards angle, she stuck out her good hand. I grabbed it and got up.

Corin

Maybe it wasn't rational, but I had attacked him anyways. I almost screamed when I saw Kaylie's broken body, her hand bent backward. She was going to have to drop out. Now I had to convince her to do that. But she'd never quit unless I failed, which I might have to do.

I might have slapped Jay when I got up, but he let it slide. The Boat was still upside down and wet, and I didn't know what to do.
"Do you think this is part of the Exam?" I asked.
Jay answered.
"Maybe we all failed here? But I don't think they would do that."

"It's been a day though!"
My question still wasn't answered when the
Gargoyles came.
