Now this? Gargoyles? Seriously, this year will be tough. The other candidates started screaming, and a few took out their weapons. Dumbasses. That'll only provoke the Gargoyles, and we most likely are expected to ride them. I lowered Kaylie's Katana.

"What are you doing!" She whispered furiously.
"We can't fight them, we need to ride them. Do what I do, If I'm not dead in thirty seconds." I said. A cry rang out from across the boat, and I say my chance. A candidate was holding onto the boat, scared and screaming. His skin was stone. These guys have to be breeder by someone, Most likely Hunters. If I could make it. I ran at it, and it dropped the man and lunged at me. At the last second, I warped onto it's back.
"Yes!" Kaylie cheered. Corin, on the other hand was already off, aiming his grappling hook at a nearby Gargoyle. I guess the things were trained to stay domestic when they were saddled- It didn't fight back. The other ones did though. One Garg came at mine and slashed, but Corin's Grappling Hook Ripped through it. He swung up, The Creature wounded and Calling, and Mounted It. A few others caught the idea and did what we did.
"Corin! You get Kaylie, Alright! Then we follow that Griffin with the Person on it!" I screamed, Soaring downwards and Shooting oncoming Attackers.

After Corin got Kaylie, Most of the other Candidates followed Us and the Griffin. It was mounted by a Pro Hunter Called Kyl'Yhus. Klye for short, he'd said.
'Where are we going?" I asked him.
"To stage three. We were expecting less, And the Grand Master had asked to reduce the numbers. But you've all made it, Congratulations." He answered. It pissed me off, he had organized the whole slaughter, right? I flew beside Corin, Kaylie on the nack of his Mount.

He said, with a small grin. That grin gave me hope, maybe we will become friends. Maybe.
