"Here I was, sitting in front of the fireplace watching a girl – who I barely noticed until that first day at Gingersnaps – keep smiling at her book. I was supposed to be concentrating on the book she let me borrow, The Grinch who Stole Christmas, but I couldn't help but notice how her brown curls frame her face perfectly and how rosy her cheeks are. I couldn't help but be captivated by her dark eyes, reflecting the fire's warm golden glow. She looked so happy and contented with reading her old copy of The Christmas Carol.
I kept wondering why she insists on teaching me the ways of Christmas time. I was stubborn, very stubborn. I'd rather do another weeks' worth of detention than hang candy canes on the tree or do any holiday related thing for that matter. She was persistent though.
But now I'm thinking that maybe I could learn something from this girl. Maybe there is more to Christmas than the presents and food.
What if Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more."

Hi to all the new and old readers!! So two things. First, please note that I wrote this when I was thirteen or fourteen, and haven't edited the chapters since. Therefore, expect a lot of mix ups between "your"s and "you're"s, missing words, and more grammatical errors.
Second, I'd just like to thank you for the continued support for this story. Half a million reads is insane!! It's been almost four years since I first published this and it warms my heart that people are still reading it. I've even received comments and messages from some that say it has become their yearly tradition to read the book to get into the Christmas spirit. I couldn't ask for better fans, you guys are the best!! I'm so sorry that I haven't been able to write anything new, school's just been keeping me so busy. I wish I will be able to find the time to write more this coming year. Nevertheless, I wish all of you a Merry Christmas filled with presents, food, laughter, and love. Love you guys! <3
